Is there a point that even insulting those admitting to hurting others is a waste of time?

Over the years (esp this year), I feel like my replies towards the posters that admitted to cheating or committing other wrong acts (regardless of gender) have soften.

I will still voice my disagreement but I feel this ''you're a worthless piece of trash'' is pointless by now. Too much energy to waste on writing an insult. Either I don't answer it or if I do answer, I'll done in a neutral tone. In a way, I think they're broken people too that might need help.

It’s kind of always been pointless in terms of changing the way they behave. It’s more about changing the way they think. The majority of these pigs are in denial about the selfishness of their choices and the depth & breadth of the damage they inflict. The person who admits to doing wrong remains beyond help until they ask for help to get right and make amends. It all starts with reminding them that they are in a dysfunctional minority. Unfortunately, to your point, it usually ends there as well. Particularly for women. They quite simply face fewer and less severe consequences for their bad behavior.

There are very few people on this site who actually have a problem that are genuinely looking for help. I mean they think they are. But 9 times out of 10 they just want you to agree with them on why they are JUSTFIED for what they did. a lot of them will ask and re-ask a question just changing few words to sometimes the entire meaning of the question until they get the answer they're looking for. I like to refer to these people as "askholes". Because like a black hole good advice goes in, is swallowed, and never heard from again.😆

Cheaters are like alcoholism. First they have to admit the problem before they can be helped. If they're not even willing to admit thier problem, you cannot help them.

Exactly the damage is done already. This ''if you loved him/her, then you wouldn't have ever cheated'' is pointless. They already did it and there is no going back in time.

Well, I try to stick to my principles. If someone has lied or betrayed me, then they're DEAD to me! Otherwise, I believe in live and let live!

Exactly. This ''if you really loved him/her, you wouldn't have cheated'' repetitive phrase is getting old already. I lost track of how many times I've heard it. The damage has already been done and there no point anymore.
