Why is it that men tend to want to escape an argument with his significant other while the women prefer to continue the argument without any breaks?

Why is it that men tend to try to leave an argument in order to come back with a less heated and more level head while women seem to prefer to keep arguments escalating to the point where things can't be discussed in a civil manner and often lead to physical fights?

Is this because women feel as though they can get away with less harsh punishments? That they can cause the men to lash out first causing them to be the bad guy when she was the one who caused things to escalate? Forcing men to the point where he is seen as the monster? I don't understand why women do this...

Not sure every persons reason is the exact as another..

I am not sure exactly why it happens for me..
I can say Perhaps it could be because I want the problem to reach the solution right now!! not later. It can be frustrating to leave someone in the middle of an argument where you are trying to find a common ground and they leave you hanging..

However that's not to say I am right or that I am justifying this woman's behavior, as I think she is a manipulative abusive person. Just trying to analyze the reasons why some people react the way she does... I see sometimes I want to solve the issue at hand in the moment it's taking place rather than have someone leave and not resolve the problem leaving me angry.. like why can't we fix this right now lets talk now and get it all out..
but also I believe we can all learn something from this.. When you see it as an outsider you can see more clearly when something is wrong, than when it's you in the situation..

if someone walks away don't instigate trying to bring the person back into the argument regardless of who is right or wrong, we all should take a step back and understand we are all different heads and process things differently, if a person left the argument perhaps they cannot resolve the situation in this manner and needs time or to be approached in a different way..

But also, if someone keeps doing this to you, you should know to remove yourself from this type of situation with that person. Perhaps removing the person from your life completely.

ANYWAY! I believe in general it is because women want to resolve the problem right then and there, talk it all out and reach a solution, where as men want to escape the problem and relax because it's too much chaos and perhaps return later when both can talk in a calmer manner.. but if it always happens like this then one will always be yelling while the other is always running away.. and the problem will never reach its solution lol

There is a difference between an argument and nagging. Men argue and debate. Women just nag and try to be a pest. There objective isn't to logically resolve the problem, it is to try to hurt you. Thus there's no reason to even listen to what they have to say when they lose their shit. Just kick them out and tell them to go home. Then talk to them in a week.

Because the statement has been said, we don't want to waste time on a loop discussion, in attempting to wear us down, because there won't have any new arguments. If they actually wanted to solve it there wouldn't have been an argument in the first place.

Women are along with people in general today are taught by modern Media/culture to embrace their emotions and live for and by them. This means they tend let their feelings go far further in guiding their actions then they should under some supposed believe in their "wisdom".
Unfortunately this is a very much flawed believe as emotions are nothing more than primitive instincts designed for a simple and very violent world that largely ceased to exist 50+ thousand years ago for humans.

For many women this is a particularity big problem because the area pf their brain that process emotions is particularity close and well connected to their memory center. So a woman who has a troubled emotional history with someone they feel entitled to resolution from can find themselfs in an unreasonable emotional feed back loop in which no listening can take place.

This is particle likely if like Amber they have a personality disorder rendering them even more unable to accept or process any other information.

Men being far more prone to dealing with potently dangerous drama and fights from being kids, know from experience they need to leave emotionally charged situations before they get out of control, as they will among guys much more quickly become violent.

So men evolved an instinct to flee such situation to allow everyone to cool down rather than do something they both regret. otherwise they end up dead or in jail.

Women being less violent and until more recently more controlled by fear have yet to evolve such a response.

For me, I can't rest until I know arguments are solved as I do not want it to happen again, I find it extremely difficult, I could change that about myself but I want to be with someone who can also communicate. I don't see it as a flaw unless you get angry/mad because of it.

Just because I want it resolved sooner rather than later doesn't mean I am not level-headed, I can stay level-headed in stressful situations and often have to.

As for why? I don't know, maybe it's in our biology. My dad was also the same, he walked away.

When a woman is in an argument with a man they get emotionally invested in that argument and they want to keep it going - AKA they love the drama,
Men on the other hand realise that arguing with a woman is a fruitless exercise and can lead to one of two scenarios,
1 The men is pushed too far by the woman that he looses his temper which could lead to a physical altercation with the woman, leading to police being called etc.
2 The man doing the most powerful thing he can do, not engaging in the argument and walking away, knowing full well it will drive the woman nuts.

because women often can't detect that their emotional state is tainting their judgement. they're all up in their emotions. when men notice that they're getting angry, they leave, cause they know angry people make bad decisions and they pick back up when they're more fit to have a conversation.

a very observant question.

I think women may be better communicators and aim to be heard. leaving the emotional connection "dangling" is like choaking off their air supply. for a guy, they feel ok in an absence of discomfort.

women seek constant emotional connection, I think that's the difference.

some of this may be personality. I'm avoidant, my woman deals with every emotionally relevant matter until it's settled. It's how we are wired or trained.

It is actually reverse for me, I want the break and he wants to keep going at it, to get a immediately solution. Says its because he is afraid if we do not resolve it right there, that we'll forget and then next time something happens it will be worse.

Or as I see it, he has his talking points lined up and if we take a break... he'll forget them.

I think at those heated moments, ladies like to be heard and put an end to the argument. Men on the other hand don't like to be quarrelled, don't wanna listen especially if they are on the wrong, they prefer walking away. So when the man fails to listen to the lady, she increases her voice, quarreling, which can lead to fights.
