Have you ever been branded accidentally or on purpose such as running with a pen as a child tripping and jabbing yourself with the tip and now you have a permanent ink dot on your skin. Or touching something metal with raise parts. Or even a forced tattoo to mark you as part of something.
I myself had my hand pinned down as someone tattooed a mark on me. wasn't cool but young folks can do some mean stuff sometimes.
Another example was
My brother has a penny mark on his thigh. We were playing with the iron and the hot penny ended up on his thigh.

Yeah, when I used to be a short order chef I was taking a pot of hot oil to the disposal bin and the metal handle burned through my heat proof glove which was starting to wear out.

I had to walk like twenty yards with it burning a stripe into my wrist or spill scalding oil everywhere. Bad time

I accidentally stabbed myself with a knife. I carry the scar to this day. Fortunately, it's NOT visibly noticeable. Unfortunately, it makes my fingerprints 100% unique. So I have to wear gloves when I cat burgle!

A few years ago, a lighter that was used for a very long period of time dropped on to my hand. Metal part burnt a small triange shape you can barely notice into my hand
