I don't remember the title but a book by Albert Ellis on rational-emotive therapy was quite helpful.

This is probably going to sound rlly dumb but bare with me. When I was little I used to read the magic treehouse childrens series. It helped me a lot as far as with keeping my imagination at bay. I would always get in trouble for saying stuff or doing stuff on the basis that my imagine was super wild and I didn’t realize what I was doing would get me into trouble.

In a way the books helped me escape since I was reading something where I could let my imagine run wild but also not get myself into trouble. Each book had a different location that the treehouse would take them. I also felt like a big girl because I was reading these in 1st grade and they were easily 4 or 5 grade level books lol.

Word search puzzles. Im very speedy and good at those. I also enjoyed I Spy, Where the Sidewalk Ends (poetry), etc. and this huge collection set of encyclopedias that i used to study as a kid
