+1 yI actually "stopped" dating actively at the end of 2018, I still had some talks here and there and one turned into a relationship last year for a short time but uhm I wasn't planning on that tho, anyways since Nov. 2021 I'm really not dating at all, no talking to anyone or whatever. Nothing.
And I'm planning to keep this up for a few more months, until I meet someone that whoops me out of my feet or something00 Reply

I've taken breaks enough times, some short, others long but I'm glad i did. I was able to clear my mind and look at both sides of the spectrum and realising why it couldn't work. During one of those breaks, i met my current husband.

u +1 yI sometimes take a few months after a break up of a longer term (6+ months) relationship. My break ups of longer relationships usually begin long before the final separation, so my grieving process is underway before we say goodbye.

+1 yI have taken a break for over 2 years of dating and I'm about to go take another break from dating cuz I can't find a decent Christian guy that I can actually find myself to be with I'm going to take the break and I'm going to work on myself more while waiting on the right guy that actually has time for me and isn't immature about things. It's better for me to wait on the right guy then for me to get heartbroken over and over. God has shown me red flags within two to three weeks of knowing someone or getting to know someone. God has never filled me in my life of getting to know a guy within three to four weeks.
10 ReplyIt will be fine years this August. I found out that I am better off alone. I don't care what others are doing, and most the women my age are shopping retirement plans and options.
I found out that once you have your family, as a guy, relationships are fun, but expensive and overwhelming. I like to do my own thing, and have to worry about going to dinner parties, group outings, to the mall to sit around while she shops all day, usually on my dime.

@Pinay_ako I don't think it's funny

@Pinay_ako I just put GaG on Google the other day. When I was going through my email, was t was different - there was the word like that I would tap on and the user knew I gave themselves a like. Google uses emojis with those faces instead of the word like to tap on. I wasn't sure what each emoji meant. So, I saw stars and that was the one I thought was close to a like. I think I just won't use those emojis. I miss the word like to choose from. ā®ļø

I was just tired of dating.
I had all sorts of fun, endless motorcycle trips, I could come and go as I pleased.
I could get laid most anytime when I felt the urge to have sex, but really wasn't looking for a relationship, an I would tell them that.
I never wanted to lead someone on.00 Reply301 opinions shared on Other topic. I tried to take a soft month break (we'd still hang out and despite the open relationship I wouldn't be sleeping around) and it ended with her trying to kill herself.
It was literally just "you need to hang out more with your friends, you are descending in a spiral where I'm the only person in the world, this ain't healthy." And it was one of the biggest fuck ups in my life.
No fucking idea what else should I have done, but that certainly didn't work.00 ReplyYep I'm on a break now and love it. It's so peaceful. Once you give yourself a break and experience so much peace when someone tries to enter your who doesn't provide that peace it's easy to let them go. Yeah a lot of guys are drama and need a lot of attention I've noticed
00 ReplyDue to a rejection afflicting me a lot, I took a 10 years long break from dating and sentiments. Probably I only wasted my best years, since I did from 17 to 27, but I felt so.

+1 yA couple of times, I called it working on me and having fun being single... rather than jumping from one relationship to another.
Some of the best times of my life was being single.

it wasnāt until this marriage that I realized I had what Iād been seeking.

+1 yYup. For many years now. Now considering reentering the dating market is a bit of a daunting prospect. Is it even worth it?

@DarkWinterNights from what I have learned on this website is that, no, it's not worth it. It's almost like sticking your hand and n a snake pit š

Don't get me wrong when I say I haven't dated for that long, I do love women. It's just that I haven't found a good enough match that is at my level of expectations. Plus I do very much value my freedom and time at this point of my life to do the things that I want to do. Raising a family is a big financial commitment and physical and mental strain as I've seen for myself from my own side of being brought up in a (fairly large) family.

@Xtendable I know it sounds cliche, but I am truly sorry for your loss. That's a very hard thing to go through. Glad you gave yourself some alone time, then got back out there. Some people can't do that.
