Is taking care of and putting yourself first selfish?

Yes and no. It is situational to me. If there is something in your life that is affecting your well being to the point you need to put yourself first, then by all means. Being happy and mentally right is important, and how are you going to put others first if you aren't "right" yourself?

I can list a bunch of other reasons that it is not selfish to put yourself first. Perhaps you are very ill. Just another example of getting yourself right so that you can put others first.

Now, if all is right in your world and you have no worries, then yes it would be selfish to ALWAYS put yourself first when maybe others need a boost. I believe in doing good by others if I can.

For those that you love, you have to sometimes put them ahead of yourself because they simply need it. Im sure they would do the same for you. Again, this is hugely situational and there could be a million scenarios dreamed up where it is true one time and not another.

No! Love yourself first and foremost. It’s only selfish when you only care about yourself in the expense of others. But self love is priority

There will be times in your life where you must consider others and how you handle yourself impacts their lives. If you are in a state of disrepair so to speak, and you need to make some changes or improvements to bring yourself back to a happy place, I think that’s terrifically important. Selfishness is characterized by putting your wants and desires ahead of the well-being of others.

it depends, it can be if you ALWAYS put ysf first. it is important to take care of ysf but also to be willing to sacrifice from time to time as we people are not meant to be alone and its about compromise
