Why did I get strike in the head with an object?

I recalled arguing, turning away and then briefly felt getting struck in the head with an object. I didn't see that coming. I don't know how long I was laying on the floor unconscious.

I've gained consciousness but noticed a bit of dried blood. I know exactly who did it but I'm still processing what just happened and I feel weird about all this. Nothing like this has ever happened before. I'm not perfect and I have flaws but to get strike like that for just an argument seems crazy. Why would someone do this? Why?

I'll be ok, just kind of sore. I'm getting dressed up. I know who it was (someone I trusted and loved) but it feels weird. I've never been slapped nor punched, much less assaulted like that before.

I'm resting now for a week. There was no fractures and nothing major. I've reported it already but part of me feels bad. I'm going ask an updated post now. I feel like speaking up.
