What should I do and you recommend to me based on your personal experience?

I brought a car out of state. To have my car transported to my house a hauling company recommend by the dealership (BMW) who sold me the car gave me a quote of $1,660.

I tried putting my information to other companies to get a quote but they are just brokers who recommend you to other companies.

I received quotes for $1,100. $1,200 and $1,300 and everything in between which is a better deal than the $1,660 one I originally did from a actual hauling company with background checks on drivers.

I did read some reviews on the cheaper offers, but it was mostly mixed reviews with some great experiences and others claiming horrible experiences and service regarding their car and delays.

My car is over 1,200 miles away from my house and it's a luxury Audi sport coupe.

It's tempting to take the cheaper offers but I don't want to risk taking a cheaper offer with the kind of money I have already paid for my car if something happens to it.

Do you think this company and website is legit. The price I'm being offered sounds too good to be true.

I would really recommend you to pay the most you can, or at least go mid/high range

first, because I know you love this car and it is the car you've always wanted, so it will be a one time purchase for a while, so it is worth to spend the extra 400 or so

second, because I am familiar with transportation business, and there are usually two reasons for companies to go with cheaper prices... either they are newer so they lack experience and there will be more chances for things to go wrong, or... they need to go with cheaper prices because they have a lot less customers satisfied, so it is difficult to bring clients if you have a bad reputation

the more a company charges, the more confident they feel on their services offered and usually, people see it worth

at the end of the day, either option has a possibility to go wrong and if there's some damage to the car, it might be pricier than the 400 bucks you will put to get the best deal today, which to me is the more pricy one (assuming the reviews for clients are actually good)

Thank you. I was thinking the same too. The car is fire. Only has 35,900 and its the premium plus one with the sports package and technology package as well.

the site might be legit, however... the "dude" might not be

it you are able to contact with the company via that website and get a deal from them directly, you would have more chances to confirm if they are legit

but if the dude contacted you first via social media or from some forum/post online you did, he could just be saying "that is my site" or to claim to work for them

Screw it. I'm not taking chances. Too much fraudsters out there who know how to steal people's ish and disguise very well.

I'm just going to pay what I have to pay with the recommendation BMW gave me lest my car emds up in stolen on its way to Hong Kong on the black market.

I'm guess you probably paid over $30K for this car. Is $600 really a deal-breaker? Go with the vetted hauling company.

Remember that you'll have to get the car licensed in your state, and they will probably require you to pay a tax on the amount you bought it for. If you already paid that tax in the other state, there should be paperwork to fill out to get that money transferred to your state.

Also, I don't know where you are, but some states also charge an ad valorem tax on the car's value and how old it is, payable when you license the car.

Re: your update. I would avoid this guy. He's probably looking to launder money. He'll take your $851 and report it as $1600, thus laundering almost $800. Remember that New Jersey is one of the most corrupt states in the country, controlled by organized crime.

I used a car carrier once before and they usually do broker it out to other people who have the lowest bid but it worked out all right so it’s really hard to know which one to use because sometimes the average price is OK , just make sure they have good insurance

I would have taken the cheapest deal with the transportation was 300 to 500 miles away.

Over a 1,000 miles I don't trust cheap deals because often times they are cheap for a reason but it's definitely tempting to take since it can save me $300 to 400 dollars..

Me the dealer can if you a temporary tag. And you can drive that across state lines. That is if you want to drive and enjoy both 3-day travel trip if you can afford to take time off. Or pay the $1660.

If I had a BMW, I would definitely drive that baby and open it up to see what it does. The car was made for the highway. I used to drive a lot in Europe. But it is your choice have it shipped.

It's out of BMW hands. I just asked them for a recommendation in regards to giving me a decent and reliable company.

And I'm assuming it's more expensive because maybe BMW and the car hauling company have a deal based on recommendation or they just are more professional and timely in their delivery.

I would find a car that is local. Or else I would go to New Jersey and drive it back myself.

Take the most expensive offer and make sure it is transported *inside a carrier*, not just covered and outside. Better yet, DRIVE IT YOURSELF.
