Dog owners, what clever tips do you have?

... for picky eaters.

Our dog - a coton de Tuléar - is very picky, but I want him to eat kibble. Everytime we tried to introduce it to him, he will leave it there to rot if needed and demonstrates waaaay more willpower than us. It's a no for him.

Then we feel bad that he isn't eating and go right back to feeding him what he wants... human food.

Have you had any success getting a dog to eat kibble after... many years?

Fill his bowl with kibble ( whatever amount you should give him according to his weight). Pour beef, chicken, or turkey gravy over the kibble and mix it in really well. Let it soak into the kibble. Then give it to your dog.

You can also give a can of dog food and mix in kibble.

For breakfast my dog get a scoop on kibble. At dinner time I use whatever kibble is left and I mix a can of dog food and let him eat with us. He won't eat until he sees us eating.

I would coat the kibble in something he likes to eat, broth of some sort, salmon oil, anything like that. So the kibble is more interesting to eat, and maybe with time do it with smaller amount and see if you can fase it out

We've tried that 😂 he licks it but won't eat it. Or he'll push it with his nose to get to the coating at the bottom of the bowl, lol.

What about mushing it into a paste and mix it with his usual food? Ever tried something like that?

He sounds amazing 😂 I guess that could work? My dog is an F1 labrador, so she will eat anything, even if its not food, so I haven't tried too many things, but maybe? if it sits in liquid long enough it kinda turns mushy, maybe then its harder for him to eat around it?

My dog used to hate eating Kibbles and Bits unless he got Cesar wet food first. My dog will eat the dry dog food if there's no wet food as he only gets it once a day.
