* It is found in the Eastern part of its continent

* This range was formed ~480 million years ago
* Its elevation was once as high as the Alps, but erosion has reduced its overall elevation
* The tallest mountain in this range is 6684 ft (2037 m) in elevation
* It formed a barrier to Westward expansion of people in its country
* There is a popular trail covering the entire range that takes 5-7 months to hike

Because this mtn range is in the east and it doesn't have tall mountains, I will guess it's the Appalachians.

Amy, I'm disappointed... did you read the clue "It is found in the Eastern part of its continent." ? That means farther east than where you live, I'm pretty sure. Rockies are West, last I checked.

Whoops! Then it's the Appalachian mountain range. I can be wrong, but those are the only ones I know about on the eastern side of the US (besides the Blue Mts, and I dont think they are long or a range at all,
