If you order something online and you aren’t happy with it, do you return it or just take the L?

I can’t be bothered to repackage and ship something back lol. Unless it was something really expensive, I usually just say “fuck it” and take the L

I return it. I’m not wasting money!

This is why we WENT TO STORES.

1. We got it that day.
2. We didn't pay shipping fees.
3. We could examine it or try it first before buying it.
4. If we didn't like it, we didn't buy it.
5. And if we did buy it and discovered we didn't like it, we could go back and return it getting our money back or, at worst, store credit.

Is that amazing?

Yanno some people work a lot or don’t have easy access to stores, they might not have a car or just live far away. Plus not every store carries specific items.
So let’s not act like ordering online is useless lol

You got off your ass and got what you needed.
If it was a specialty item, you contacted the company will this revolutionary device called a PHONE.
And the telephone directory? It was FREE and they sent it to you... free! And companies who sold specialty items? They sent you their catalogs... for FREE so you either ordered by mail or by phone then.

I am not saying that the Internet isn't wonderful... Lord knows my wife does not know how to keep a buck in her wallet because of the web. Bezos is on a first-name basis with her.

But, this question, to me, is humorous a bit... Still the problems with returns don't happen so often when you got to place to buy it and check it out first.

Would you buy a new car online without having driven that model before?
Would you get married to a woman over the Internet before you met her?

Some things in life need to checked out first before you commit to it.

Times have changed. The internet makes things more convenient now like you said.
I’ve ordered hundreds of items online and I’ve only ever been disappointed with a few items 🤷‍♂️

I’m one of those people too lazy to return stuff I buy online, so I personally only buy things I can be sure I can fit if it’s a clothing item. I don’t buy specific things online like jean’s because it’s always a toss up on quality and sizing. I’ve only had a few items I would have to return from everything I’ve bought but I just ended up keeping them because I can’t be bothered to do the whole packing process.

I return it if i have a relationship with the seller. I can be as picky as I want. Otherwise I take the L.

If it's my mistake, I don't return it. If it's the supplier's mistake (ex: I received something different from what was advertised), then I return it. My SO returns it no matter what the reason if she doesn't like it. So, overall, we return it and that's how I voted.

Depends on why, if it's a broken product I certainly ask for money back. I don't buy clothes or food online. If ifor example buy a boring boardgame, I take the loss, it was my pick that was wrong, not the product quality.

I typically return it. I am a minimalist, so when I buy something and I discover I don't like it, I tend to send it back. I am not big on clutter so having something I don't like in my place or I would never use, would bother me.

I really do not buy much online because of this. I can buy a tool or a car part and I know exactly what I want but the few times I bought clothing online I was always disappointed.

It depends. I look at the price of returning it and the last few things cost more money to return than to just take the loss. I bought what I thought was a calendar with lingerie models, but was a day planner with one on the front.

For instance, in case of doubt, I order multiple models.

That's why I have this great monitor, speakers, mouse and clothes.

Depends on the value of the item, and how crummy it is. If it's a large value item and it doesn't work at all I'd have to send it back.
