Are you a dog person or a cat person and why?

My parents have 2 cats but I like both cats and dogs. I would be happy with getting either one or both one day.

Dog.
They're a lot of fun, they can do things, sometimes do things for you, they're almost no trouble to take care of and they last a good long time!
Cats stink, they leave fur EVERYWHERE, they think EVERYTHING is their scratching post, they shit and piss in the house and then throw it all over the floor! After playing with their own piss and shit, they jump all over your kitchen counters and tables, they scratch you for NO fucking reason at all!! They don't DO anything but eat and get fat!! They don't even make a good door stop!! And, I'm allergic to them!! (Certain types of dogs, too but, those are easy to avoid.)

How would you train a dog to not shed? I never had a cat that played with there poop or pee. The number one reason whycats go to the bathroom outside of the litter box is because it isn't clean enough which is on the owner. Never had one cat that played with their poop or pee. I have had cats since I was 4. My cats have always had scratch posts and scratch pads so I didn't have problems with them scratching furniture and other stuff they are not supposed to scratch.

@MysteriousDarkness You don't! You just run the sweeper once in a while or take them to get a haircut once in a while.
I've never had a cat and everybody I knew that had one had to deal with the cat throwing their turds out of the litter box and some of the litter with it!!
My dogs ALWAYS pissed and shit outside UNLESS they HAD to go VERY badly and there was no one around to let them out back or they were older and couldn't control it that well, anymore. Why would you train an animal to shit and piss IN the house, UNLESS you were able to teach them to use the toilet!
Dogs don't need scratch posts. SOMETIMES (3 or 4 times in their entire lives) they MIGHT scratch at the carpet! I've had at least 10 dogs in my life and never had a single one scratch anything! OR jump up on the kitchen table or counters or even go out back and play with their own shit, if we hadn't gotten around to picking it up, yet.

Cats are always as bad as most think they are. Cat's can't throw their poop since they dont't have opposable thumbs. The resson for poop outdide of the litter box is because the litter box is over due to be cleaned which isn't the cats fault.

Most animals aren't that social plus being inside a house. In general I would say why wouldn't you like a social animal? I don't get why some people will say they don't like cats or they don't like dogs.

I have a cat because In an apartment I think it is unfair to a dog especially a big dog for it not to have a back yard. Dogs and cats can get along but I have never had both together.

I do get why people don't want animals that poop on the floor. Goats are quite social but don't know if they can be toilet trained. They are dangerous if they have horns because they toss their head.

I love my cat! He's snuggly, and cozy, and literally my shadow - he follows me everywhere I go meowing at me. He's even in the window waiting for me when I get home and when I go to sleep he sleeps on my hip. 🩷💕

Because dogs are stupid. Plus the always want attention. You could pet a dog 23 hrs. A day and he'll still want you to pet him for the 24th.

Cats on the other hand are like people. They like affection, they like attention, but they also like thier own personal space.

I think people who choose cars are generally better more well adjusted people. While dog owners are needy. They need validation and they choose dogs because they know thier pack mentality means they will always accept them. But dogs will also drink out of the toilet so that should tell them something about a dogs selectiveness. 😆😆😆

I like both, but I usually have dogs as pets because you can take them with you, and I have really bad anxiety, so it helps. I miss my little Yorkie. He was the best little doggie. He loved walks, pepperoni pupps, beggen' strips, going for rides in the car, and in the summer time, I would get him a little ice cream cone (Strawberry was his favorite!).

Hanzel was his name. I miss that dog ::Sighs::

Because videos of them have popped up on my Facebook feed and I think they’re adorable with cute little personalities. I also have a love hate relationship with spiders and think that having a cute little spider will help with that relationship

I mean it would be no different than having a rodent or a reptile it would have an enclosure and be enclosed. Most people probably wouldn’t even know it’s there unless it’s been pointed out. We had fish for a time beautiful set up in the kitchen area next to the coffee maker no one even noticed them until we pointed them out lol

Right now, I have a cat and want a second. It's just cheaper for me to own cats and it's more important to me that the animals I keep have a healthy and happy life than that I get an animal I want but can't provide for.
