+1 yI don’t think you can know that. My building the tallest in my city… I have seen at least 3 people killing themselves from a place that I used to call home,
I was only 7-8 when I saw the huge figure flying in front of my window. Then the sound…. It got me shivers to remember…
Then everyone was panicking, they commanded us not to look out of the window.
I got curious… Had no idea what happened…
Looked outside and there was a man with no head, head has obviously been burst. The blood everywhere, blood was splashed even on a 2nd floor.
The 2nd one that I remember, I was older about 12….
He was a young man, of about 28-30….
He was my uncle’s friend…
I looked outside and he was laying there on the ground, his pants were pulled down. I couldn’t bear looking at him. Went to my room and cried…
I remember I asked God to never let anyone kill himself from out building again….
I was sad… Helpless. I felt guilty for some reason, I felt guilty that my home was a final place for the lost souls…
He had a mother, a widower, I remember I thought what would she do when she’d learn what happened to her son…
And I remember my eyes got teary and I felt numb.
I felt like time stopped. There was a strange numbness as if the sadness was so big that I didn’t feel anything anymore.
For many, many years, I looked up every time before approaching my building… I was scared someone would jump.
I still look up when I go back.
But I rarely go there…
So, I have seen my fair share of deaths… But I can tell one thing If I ever die, I’ll die with my natural death or a cause that had nothing to do with me. Because I love life too much ro give up on it.

+1 yEveryone is different so you can't always tell..
But if you are feeling suicidal definitely speak to a doctor or nurse they can help you. I was so against, seeing someone about my issues but my mother forced me in to go see someone and they got me the help I needed and was very kind and helpful.03 Reply- +1 y
Speaking from my own experience. Just know that not all of the time the help actually helps. I reached out while I was pregnant begging for help, got told it was pregnancy hormones, but I knew it wasn't. After giving birth. I was extremely depressed, I couldn't bond with my baby. I again reached out for help, and because I missed one damn phone call from the mental health team, they showed up to my home, threatened to call the cops on me, they breeched my patient confidentiality, they disclosed to my family I had postnatal depression before they had even told me this information. Worst of all. They contacted child protection on me because I went off at them for breeching mu confidentiality and more importantly for trying to place my baby in the care of my sister who had sent me threatening messages threatening to harm me. They are very aware of my sister threatening to harm me, and they went and disclosed my location to my sister. There is more to the story of what happened.

Mental health even lied and said I was being agreesive when I wasn't. I was in the emergency room when I was going off at them. If I had been aggressive at any time. Absolutely no way the security guards would have just sat there. The police who were also there wouldn't have just sat back and done nothing. the nurses themselves definitely would not have let be wondered around if I was being agreesive or would they have hugged me. Sometimes that help out there are the ones who drive people to take their own lives and I told them this.

@NotInterestedSorry Well yeah I am sure these things can happen but nothing like that happened in my experience.. I went through postpartum too for my second baby but I never told anyone about it and it was really hard to deal with, especially not bonding with your own child I think that is why after I finally mostly got over it after 2 years, my depression just went down hill from there.. I don't know why the doctors would do those things to you but I don't think anything like that would happen just for regular depression.

+1 yYou don't really know without the person having attempted before, since you might get signs off of how they act when heavily considering or planning to. I know for me when I was about 60 - 70% there in considering suicide during my senior year of high school that no one noticed. I was hard working, ambitious, had friends, wasn't impulsive, sarcastic, and I wasn't pessimistic towards things.
Everyone is different. People don't always want to commit suicide for the same reasons and deal with the impulse in the same way. The only sign I outwardly gave was that I had an awful sleeping schedule and was very often sleep deprived. Already I was known for having a bad one, but it'd gone from occasionally pulling all nighters to doing one most days (staying awake 28 - 42 hours).00 Reply
+1 yMany people who would do it they would talk about it before. People just dont go and kill themselves out of the blue. Usually these people are known to be troubled for months or even for years. Everyone knows they aren't that well. They usually have history of depression or substance abuse. Maybe trauma or they bottle up pain and dont open up.
I noticed Something really in common with most people who kill themselves. Is that they live depressed for very long. But before they kill themselves they seem so at peace and absent minded. If u see someone who has been always suicidel and depressed suddenly acting all calm and disinterested it can be an indication

Believe it or not most people talking about committing suicide are just looking for attention. They don’t have a plan because they don’t really want to do it. However if they have a plan then they are seriously thinking about it. Most will leave a note of some kind apologizing or explaining their actions. That remorse may save them. If they don’t care about a note and they have a plan of how they are going to do it. Then you may be the last person they talk to before before you read about it in the paper.

We never knew or understood why, nor saw any symptoms of depression or any possible explanation. It was devastating for us that were left behind.
00 ReplySome people look and behave like they usually do, but suddenly they start do extraordinary things, not typical for them. It's also a sign. They no longer worry about the consequences as before, they say and do what they want, because they don’t care what will happen in the future. Unfortunately, I knew a person who acted this way and left this world.

Refer to the following article. However, if you’re worried about a friend or loved one, please call or text 988 (if you’re in the US) on their behalf. If you’re outside of the US, contact your local emergency department immediately. https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/publications/warning-signs-of-suicide14 Reply- +1 y

+1 yIf someone seems like they're forcing happiness and everything is just a little too "perfect;" that's probably a strong sign. If no one actually knows anything about what's going on with them personally, but they are always there for others, that might also be a sign. Many times, there really aren't signs.
It really sucks, but sometimes the people who need the most help don't know how to accept help from others.

+1 yWhat are classified as suicidal thoughts?
Suicidal feelings can mean having abstract thoughts about ending your life or feeling that people would be better off without you. Or it can mean thinking about methods of suicide or making clear plans to take your own life.00 Reply- 9.3K opinions shared on Other topic.
+1 ythis is not a good thought to follow. you're not a psychiatrist. you shouldn't walk on eggshells around people as if they were to commit suicide. everyone is accountable for their own life. don't take accountability for someone elses, unless maybe it's your underage child or care dependent family member.
00 Reply withdrawn, sad, anxious, though sometimes there are no signs to see. my one friend, you never would have known the last day was nothing outta place, nothing different, the next day however, it was a life lost with no answers or warning

If you're in the US there's a suicide hotline you can Google the number. Maybe talk to parents or a close friend. The hotline is probably the best option if it's a current issue. DM if you really need more help.

@736_switch_blade you ok?
2.8K opinions shared on Other topic. Don’t think there are necessarily. Depression can be hard to navigate on the outside. Most times on the news suicides are always a “shock” to friends and family.

00 ReplyAlcohol usage, withdrawal from friends. My sons best friend took his life 6 years ago. He lived in my home for 6 months and treated good. His death was hard to take
