Would you befriend an alien?

If it is found out that aliens infact do exist and are living among us, what would you do? How would you feel if they came out and started conversing with us especially if they look like us? Would you be friends with an alien?

I think I would. It would be so neat to talk to them and ask them what they think of our human race, that's if they could speak our languages. I wonder if they would be disgusted or amazed by us.

Hard to say. I would be very cautious. For one thing if they've already been here walking among us but hiding thier true species then they've already proven thier deceptiveness. And if they've crossed the vastness of space it goes without saying they're more technologically advanced then us. So... NO, I wouldn't befriend them. At least not until I understand more about them. Why they came here? What are thier weaknesses? Things of that nature.

Well I think we like yo think that being more intelligent/advanced it makes you less violent and cruel. But look at man. I mean we see ourselves as the apex of creation. Yet look at how many things we do in the name of fear. In MANY ways we have never left the caves. And it's that way throughout the animal kingdom. Animal attack when they feel threatened/are afraid. I'm not saying we can't become friends if we ever find aliens. And I'm interested to see if that ever happens how we react. Because we will have found something new to fear. It might actually unite humanity. Because everything throughout human history has always been us against them.
It's not that I want this to be the case. But self preservation is kind of coded into us.

Indeed you're right. And that would indeed unite us if we were to ever have to fear them being an enemy but I really hope that's not the case. I hope they really will come in peace and we can be allies and learn new things from them and maybe they us. That's my hope anyways but I know that that may not be the case and they may be our enemies instead.

BIG NO! Aliens are not human friends, they WILL proclaim to be friendly, but they are anything BUT friendly. All abductions that were happened for Decades if not centuries are being described as being torturously cruel and sexually sadistic to the point of death. So, those facts alone should tell me that they anything BUT good. I mean what kind of alines are those, who have a hard on for earthly women? Sounds like a dimensional demonic entities to me.

It was considered to be a science fiction because CIA and top global governmental departments were investing billions of dollars to keep it that way. Don't you find it odd that for 1000's of years upon until 1940's humans were using horses and extremely primitive tools to get by and then from 1940's to today we get a quantum computer, CERN, Gen 6 fighter jets, A. I's etc... in less than 80 years? Those aliens gave us tech to kill and exploit each other and again those type of acts should tell you what kind of ""aliens"" they are, a Very Evil ones.
