Mike Tyson is 57 years old. What you think?
Dude is 57. George Forman fought to almost 50 but George hit HARD and he could take a punch. I'm not saying Tyson couldn't. I'm saying that Tyson was a stick of dynamite. He had everything working against him. He was short (for a boxer), he didn't have a very long reach. But he had a devastating uppercut and probably just as important he had a support structure that kept him FOCUSED. That's why his career pretty much went off the rails after Cus D'Amato passed away.

Boxing in 2023-2024 is not the same as when Tyson boxed in the 80s-90s

Nobody thought Big George could do it at 46 and he wasn't as pumped as Tyson.
Frank Bruno posted a photo of himself, Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson together in London a couple of weeks ago. Tyson is the only one of the three former champs who still looks dangerous - in the photo anyway. I don't doubt a fighter of his experience could be a force to be reckoned with, even at almost 60. Any younger fighter who got into the ring expecting an easy win would likely get a nasty shock.I’m not a boxer but did train for fitness competitions in my 20s, and have historically been in great shape. As I got older I had some issues physically. I’m a yoga instructor (side gig) but will never be at my optimal physical fitness again; albeit, I should add that yoga added a new level that I wished I had been into back then. I think it would depend on health issues, and determination. His competition would be young and fierce, and literally at their peak. It’s a hard call but I would say, not likely.
Last time I saw him he was getting beaten up by bums and that was a long time ago. Returning to the ring now he would have two chances of winning the title: slim and none. And Slim is out of town.
By an odd coincidence if he wanted fight for the WBC title now he would have to fight Tyson Fury, who I presume was named after the old champ.
Foreman did it. Given he super heavyweights out there, doubtful.
And I don't think a well trained Pacquaio could defeat Nayoya Inoue either although he is seeking a non title rematch with Mayweather.
He is in great shape for his age, but even he admits he couldn't hang with 'prime' heavyweights.
For the younger people here who can appreciate greatness, please... look up Tyson's fights on YouTube. The man was an absolute terror in his prime.I'm 57... no way. he'd die trying. just can't recover well enough. only way is early knock out or rope a dope or something like that.
He's smarter than that!!!
Anything is possible, but it's highly unlikely.. He retired because he lost to someone younger and in better shape.. He would probably make it far, but I doubt he could gun for the World Title..
Too old at this point. I still wouldn’t want smoke with him though, lmao
Too old, too small. The way he fought doesn't work when you get older.
no way. There is a reason there are no pro athletes in their 50s.
There is a possibility, hard to say?
I find it interesting that some ine like Mason Greenwood is accused of something and barely has a career to continue with. Yet a convicted rapist (Tyson), can have a film career and return to boxing seemingly with plenty of support
No way, Tyson was defeatable in his prime , so there's no way he would be a heavyweight title holder at his age now.
You mean without being DQ'd for cannibalism?
Maybe if he fought 80 year olds, lol.
Not a chance
I am surprised he can tie his shoes.
