Any familiar junk food I guess.
Anything, that tastes pretty good is essentially comfort food to me. However it has to be sugar free for me because sugar is evil and I don't want to contract type 2 diabetes.
Pizza, barbecue, self made blue curacao mojito cocktails, mulled wine, fajita, doner kebab/durum. The Asian Cuisine has some quite exquisite meals such as Shurpa, Tikka Masala, Mien Ga, stir fried Chicken/Pork/Beef anything with chili and rice/noodles, Thai Curry.
I replace McDonalds and Burger King with Doner kebab and their non-McDonalds fries. However every now and then I want a McDonalds.
Wow, variety🙂
I think cold canned beans. I came to love them so much long ago while staying in a hurricane shelter since that was mostly all there was to eat besides some other little things.
Just the idea of thinking about canned beans tends to make me happy.
Just the idea of eating canned beans, whoops. Also for some reason I tend to think about Road Warrior when I think about canned beans. Mad Max ate dog food but it was also in a can.
I haven't tried eating canned dog food so I replace the idea with canned beans. But just the idea of sitting there in a post-apocalyptic wasteland with a trusty dog eating canned beans makes me really happy.
Interesting story every time🙂
I have to moderate it though. One time my wife got me a 12-pack of canned beans from Costco and I ended up eating it all in one day. 😅
Wow😳😁
I wrote about this earlier today in some other post so I hope people will forgive the redundancy but I like to use a mental trick to make me fall in love with things I hate, like if I hate my job or hate some food.
In the hurricane shelter, originally I hated the canned beans and eating them so much was starting to depress me. So what I did was that I imagined I was one of the early Russian astronauts. They had this space food which was apparently so bland and horrid like this:
So I imagined I was in a space shuttle for months and had nothing but that to eat. Then really lived in that imagination for a while, played the story out, felt the loneliness of space, and I can't exactly smell or taste things so vividly when I imagine this way but I tried to sort of taste and smell that Russian astronaut food and it was so horrible!
So then I came back to reality in the hurricane shelter and ate the cold canned beans and it was the best food I ever tasted in my life. After that it became my absolute favorite and ultimate comfort.
Makes you recall that you survived- that's a good thought.
@Massageman Definitely although I think my brain associates the cold canned beans even without any sauce as so good mainly just because I trained myself to love it. It's something I do when I'm stuck with something I don't enjoy is I try to find a way to love it. If I succeed, I end up loving it for the rest of my life.
@Massageman There was a Q here recently, for example, asking if we enjoy headaches. And I seemed to be the only one that said "yes" if they're very mild (not like a migraine). I'm not a masochist but I think it's because I used to suffer minor ones when I was a child mainly due to having blocked sinuses a lot from allergies. So I did the same thing there where I trained myself to love my headaches so that I don't suffer when I have them. That's why I enjoy having headaches now provided they're mild and nothing too distracting.
New York style, cold pizza from the fridge no heating it up just eat it straight the way it is, there’s a unique flavor about it that I like and I like that cold taste along with it. But of course, I like hot pizzas as well, but I like the cold leftovers along with a diet, Mountain Dew, or Pepsi zero soft drink
I like cold pizza🙂
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Homemade Mac and cheese.
A decent pizza- sausage, bacon, pepperoni in any combination.
My homemade pork sausage and homemade pickles.
Chocolate ice cream (of course).
The hamburgers from Air Force Academy cafeteria (at last they were great 40 years ago).
😋😋
I've always had trouble understanding what a comfort food is. Like I'm always happiest when I get a burger or shawarma wrap, but I guess the thing that was my childhood nostalgic food was spaghetti with melted cheddar cheese and ketchup. Definitely not healthy and not my favourite food, but it does taste good and remind me of home.
Ice cream. I got addicted to it as a comfort food by my sister. She would and still has it when she’s down or has things to sort. I do the same lol
Sweet🙂
Manna (semolina? not sure how it's called in English, sorry) with raspberry syrup 🥺
It's something I used to have often when I was a child, especially when staying at grandma's. I make it for myself sometimes but it doesn't taste as good as when I was five ahaha
@velvetheart raspberry syrup sounds delicious!
@darkforcebooty it sure is!! it's a store bought one tho, but it's still great 😋
I bet! :) would you mind if I asked you for some help?
There is a hamburger place a couple of towns over. They have hamburgers exactly like the kind that they had at a place my parents took me as a kid. This was before there was a McDonalds in every town.
Nice memories 🙂🙂
Lol sweeeeets~ 🥹🧁 ice cream, cookies, cupcakes, cakes, shave ice, Asian dessert drinks, and drinking boba tea makes a girl heart/tummy happy

I’m not an emotional eater and don’t have comfort foods.
Comfort foods to me are just meals that are warming and stodgy.
I don’t have any memories or such like attached to food.
Food doesn't cause me emotional changes, nor does it create nostalgia or make me feel sentimental.
