I am in my late 20s and I still don't know how to be independent and still living with parents, what should I do?

Learn. The simple truth is that things are, economically, going to get worse before they get better- if they DO get better- and a whole lot of people are going to have to start living with family members, if they don't want to be on the street (and I can tell you from experience, you don't). But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be a contributing member of the household.

Push yourself to go out and be independent. Your parents won’t be here forever, and what you don’t want is to be left high and dry when that time comes. On top of that, you shouldn’t want them to take care of you your whole life. They’ve already sacrificed 20+ years supporting you, now stand on your own two feet, so they can enjoy the fruits of their labor, not worry what’ll happen to you if they aren’t providing.
