From this morning, 14 Sunspot regions make this the largest number so far in this Solar Cycle 25. These Sunspots have been throwing off Coronal Mass Ejections combined with a fast Solar wind are causing strong geomagnetic storms on Earth. Auroras have been seen as far south as Pennsylvania, Oregon, and Iowa. 04-20-2024

The sun does indeed not like us but like in a number of relationships, people need to be burned first before they learn their lessons.

Never go into the blaring sun without good skin protection, something like a SPF40+. I am aware that some people think that they don't need it but the skin never forgets. Payback time will be in 50 years when the first melanoma appear and will require close watching as not to develop into potential deadly skin cancers.

But the sun is also our source of life. Without it, no life on earth, no beauties of nature, nothing!

The solar cycle returns about every 11 years or so. This year, it is particularly powerful as you so rightfully state.

Skin cancer always seem late to the party. Sometimes 20 years after a couple of nasty sunburns.

So true and all those sun worshippers should take precautions whenever they are out but healthcare should make more to inform about the dangers.
