If u see a big unleashed dog running towards u on the streets, what would u do?

I mean how much time do I have.. I mean do I have enough time to crap my pants and then say oh crap dammit and then run or try to run... With sh it in your pants.

But you know if that happened that the dog would just run right by you like he was trying to chase down the paper boy or the ice cream truck as he looks at you and says you f****** stink.

No really depends on how much time you have and what kind of dog it is and what they look like when they're charging down the street if they're just running down the street I mean if they're coming at you aggressively you're going to know that and you better step into them to let them know you're not as scared cuz once you show them that you're frightened they're going to tear you up I've been bit by a dog before and it wasn't pretty... So I couldn't tell you what I would do it all just depends on how they're doing it if there's intent if there is you can read a dog pretty well and you can tell if he's going to come after you or if he's just doing his job

Obviously panic inside 👀 and judging case by case, if I can think straight - try to be warm and fuzzy even if futile - or - adopt the stance that the woman used to do on that show of Its Me or the Dog - arms folded, looking away, no attention until it settles down - starts barking again, straight away hands folded, eyes averted, strict stance

The best part I ever learnt from shows like those old dog shows was 🐶🐕 - sometimes the easiest way to get a dog to do what you want, is remember it's like being a parent with a toddler - the dog doesn't have to be yelled at or screamed at - just not giving attention is enough to have the dog come crawling back and behave, nicely "oh, so now you're gonna want my attention" 👀 without then negatively saying so you know... it all made sense when I realised dogs have the brains of toddlers 🧠🧠🧠 🐕🐕🐶

Continued - other times there would be episodes where to stop leash pulling or the dog controlling the walk, the trainer had such a unique and simple technique - just drop the leash and walk off with an attitude "okay, I'm not gonna play around, strict attitude" and then the dog would come back + rinse and repeat - the moment the dog shows disrespect, just dropped the leash and cold shoulder until the dog learns 🐶🐕 lead pulling equals - no mutual walk or no attention lol 😆

Again, just like a toddler. Now there's a either always a right way and a wrong way and a case by case way, yet it does make it intriguing how supposedly dogs are like the brains of not very bright children - they just have to be directed and reinforced direction to not steal cookies from the cookie jar 🫙 🍪 and it doesn't even have to involve raising voices 😁

I happens fairly often, and you just ignore them. If you react, then they're more likely to keep following you. Unless they're clearly aggressive, then you have to figure something else out

I've had that happen it ran past me and I grabbed it's leash took it around the house and sure enough his owner came running towards me thanking me for catching him.

A neighbors dog got lose and tried attacking me. I kicked it down the stairs and it ran home.

I would try to put a large object between me and the dog. I got chased by a pit bull once and put passing cars between me and the dog. I was trying to get the dog run over by a car.

Was the pit bull alone or with an owner?

The pit bull was chained to his owners house. I used to run by the house and the dog would go nuts. One day he ripped the piece of trim his chain was attached to and started to chase me. I was a roas the street and kept passing cars in between us until I could get away.
