OK, what's this thing then?

Well, darlin', sit right down, let me tell you 'bout that there thing, piece of Southern history, hidden from plain sight, you might say. It's a humble pot, with a story to unfold, a secret recipe, that was inspired by the preacher's daughter. Let me strum this here D chord, G chord, and then switch it up with A major as I explain.
See, down here in the Bluegrass, we're resourceful, you know,
When it comes to lovin', we don't always follow the flow.
Back when I was young, and my heart was wild and free,
I found solace in memories of Kathie, the preacher's kin, you see.
We'd sneak away, to that church lot, beneath the moon's glow,
Kisses so sweet, and touches that made my blood flow.
But when she wasn't near, and my desires burned hot,
I turned to this here pot, and what it held, a fiery plot.
Inside, it's olive oil, smooth as a summer breeze,
Mixed with red pepper flakes, to add a spicy tease.
I'd rub it on my hands, and let my mind wander free,
To those nights with Kathie, and the magic we'd weave.
Now, I know it ain't what God approves from above
But in my heart, I figured He'd understand my self love.
We all got our vices, our ways to cope and unwind,
And this little pot, it's mine, a part of my Southern grind, wanking that is.
Yes! I win the prize for guessing a cup that is not a valid cup, but used for homemade lube.
It's an aquarellum!
catholic painters use this device to turn oil paintings into water paintings by pouring hot and holy water onto the frame. There is a level of unpredictability in the results given but, in most circumstances it should produce classical art with naked angels and stuff
I’m pretty sure that’s a Japanese tea pot. We have one at home that looks similar shape wise. Traditional Japanese teapots look different then the ones we’re used to so I understand your confusion.
We use it for brewing medicine (herbs).
Some made out of clay. Some made out of nice ceramic like the above.

I needed to look up the translation for... "Schnabeltasse''
Grandma had used one on me when she wanted me to know that I'm really too sick to drink without spilling :D
We have a winner
Thanks, Poppy. I wonder now, what other medieval instruments you will dig out :D
It is a teapot with an odd handle. Maybe it is an accompanying hot water jug to top up the teapot and has an odd handle to differentiate it from the teapot for elderly gentlemen. Very disappointing to pour a good cup of tea only to find you have a cup of hot water only.
It’s a traditional Japanese teapot
Looks like something from a tea set. Maybe it's a decorative kettle? Like something that you'd use to brew tea after the water is already hot, instead of putting it directly on the stove.
Well if it's not a water boiler I don't have a clue but I like it
If it is not a teapot it must be some kind of weird enema contraption.
Closer answer yet but still miles off
Is it a vinegar container for marinating precooked food with red vinegar?
It's for pouring hot water into a tub when taking a bath, that's my guess.
Looks like a tea pot but you already shot that answer down.
Sure looks like a Japanese tea pot.
The only other thing I can think of besides it holding hot water is gravy
it looks like a chopped up Oreo cookie in a package
Is this used to separate the fat from broth?
Sorry, these are getting tiresome 😩
looks like a tea brewer
It's a Genie Lamp. Rub it and make a wish.
Is that a Wedge wood tea pot?
@purplepoppy
It’s a cream pot
For sauces?
For gravy?
Maybe it's a 🤔
