Dumbest idea ever! 😑 Animal don't understand words they listen to the noises we make. Like we do to Thier barks.
You should forget what ever past your shelter animal had and treat them with respect and care. Give them a new life not the drama filled past they had.
Most were beaten by Thier owners you want to continue that fear by giving them commands like Thier abusive past owner!
Shame on you!
@Sunrising agree
There had been cats that pretended to not speak ANY language.
As for my two dogs: they were raised in a (my) trilingual house...
the attempts of the Missus to communicate with them in Thai are usually met with disinterested quasi-obedience, where
basically they understand my English - but they reserve the right to apply situational interpretations here or there.
What I have seen in numerous American police videos and still baffles me: They are using German commands ("such, sitz, fass..." ) for their dogs!!! Why?
Are they training German shepherds?
I believe most of the dogs were shepherds, but there is nothing inherently "German" about them when the last three+ generations came from an American breeder.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Pets, much like women, are creatures that often fail to grasp the intricacies of the male-dominated universe. Their inability to speak our language is a testament to their inherent inferiority, just as women struggle to comprehend the depth of male intellect and strength.
My cat only spoke one English word NOW!
But he knew many more. I did a word test on him. Not only that but he could understand logic constructs like No jump, no chicken. I wanted him to jump through a hoop and do other tricks
Not personally, but I knew someone who had German Rottweilers that were trained in German, and responded to commands in German, which the owner had to learn.
I've had a number of cats that spoke a different language to me, but all had the same language. Meow, Meow !
All of my pets knew my language and kinda spoke it but I had zero understanding or grasp of theirs. Humans are the dumbest animals on the planet.
I have not, but we have neighbors who adopted a dog from a Jewish family, The dog understands commands in Hebrew.
Do they have a book for dogs in any language that teaches them to not hump your leg?
I think many people can relate to that inner tug-of-war! It’s tough deciding whether to embrace your natural color or experiment with something new. Sometimes, you love the idea of a fresh look, but other times, you feel connected to your natural shade. Do you find yourself leaning toward one option more often, or does it fluctuate depending on the mood?
No, my rabbit and my parrot were both fluid in my language :P
But I'd like to have a pet who knows some foreign language, like Cornish, Breton, or Basque.
yes a scaredy-cat racing greyhound dog only liked women
yes.. . a German Shepperd
My Kitty understands a few words.
No, they all spoke American.
yeah but we broke up so it worked out lol
I speak their language
No, she was taught English.
@Sunrising If she wants to obey.
