I'll take the carbine. It's light weight (a little over 5 lbs empty) and feeds with a 15 or 30 round magazine. It can be accessorized. The 30 caliber carbine ammo packs a punch. It has fairly light recoil. It's good for home defense and is good for hunting medium-size game like coyotes or deer up to 200 yards or so.
The Garand is big, heavy (9.5 lbs), and feeds with 8 round stripper clips. It fires 30.06 but some are modified for 30.30. The recoil is fairly heavy. Thae ammo is effective beyond 500 yards. It'll knock almost anything down. I wouldn't use it as a self defense weapon, and I wouldn't want to carry it around hunting. But it's a damn good gun.
Both are semiautomatic.
You can carry carbine ammo more easily than Garand ammo because of weight and size.
I'll take the carbine, easier to carry uphill

Pew pew pew pew pew. Neither, I prefer nuclear missiles, it's much more spectacular !
The Garand would be somewhat suitable for hunting bears in the woods.
Neither thank you. smh
