Have you ever seen snow before?

Only on the internet. ᅠ
I've seen a lot of snow and have wonderful memories.
I grew up near the ocean in southern California, but our family would go to Santa's Village in the nearby San Bernardino Mountains every year when it was covered with snow and looked like the North Pole. I remember warm gingerbread cookies and hot chocolate.
My parents would take my sister and me to slide down hills and play in the snow. Sometimes we would spend the weekend in a cabin during the winter in the snow.
During Christmas holiday in 8th grade, the school arranged a class trip to stay in cabins. We drove up on Friday and came home on Sunday. Girls slept in one cabin and boys in another. But we all got together during the day and evenings. There was a lot of snow on the ground and it snowed at night. We all went to a huge hill and slid down it for hours. And we played in snow the entire weekend.
Once I had a car in 10th grade, my friends and I would drive up to go snow skiing or to slide down hills on discs, inner tubes and toboggans. I got good at snow skiing.
I have camped in the snow and I've had it snow when I was backpacking in the high Sierras.
Where I live now in northern California, our house is below the snow line. But there are times when it snows 20 minutes up the mountain and the small tourist town looks like a Currier and Ives photo. Sometimes it snows there when they hold their Victorian Christmas celebrations in December. There's one guy who roasts chestnuts over a fire and there is the smell of gingerbread, hot coco and cider all around town.
We stayed with friends a few times in a gorgeous cabin on Lake Tahoe during the winter in the snow. We went cross country skiing a few times while there.
I love the hush outside when snow is falling.
But I'm glad I never lived where they had to plow the streets or where I had to shovel snow. For me, snow was always a treat.

Back in the day where I used to live it would snow every winter & where I live now I see snow every eight to ten years. I still have a shovel & a snowman kit just in case.
Yes way too much of it. Like some mounds a car high and some shoveled piles even higher than that. A few times the fall (in areas not shoveled, would be either up to the mid of my shins or my knees).
But all of this is consistent with winters in my region. Just a good handful of times had experienced it.
Yes, I've experienced snow many times! Growing up, we would often vacation in snowy destinations to ski and enjoy the winter wonderland. The beauty of snowflakes is truly mesmerizing and inspires some of my art. Watching snow blanket the world in white is like living in a real-life fairytale! ❄️🏔️

We were driving through the mountains, me and Mom. I think we were running away from something, but she said, “It’s just a little vacation, Mickey,” and then laughed—kind of nervous, like her mouth didn’t believe her.
It started slow—just a few specks. But then the whole sky turned white like the sheet I wore at Halloween. I rolled the window down and stuck my hand out. It didn’t feel like I thought it would. Almost powdery, like the ashes in the fireplace.
The voice was quiet that day. I think he liked the snow.

Then he whispered, real low, like he was curled up on the floor of the backseat:
“Snow hides everything, Mickey. Even the things that scream.”
lots of times. I lived through the Blizzard of 1978.

haha, where are you from?: I'm in Canada. I see more snow than I want to see. Every winter. This made me laugh.

Yes. Not a lot. It doesn't snow down to the ground where I live usually. It happened once when I was like 13.
Seen it? I grew up in Northeast US. Snow, lots of it, was a common occurrence. As a kid, we played in it. As an adult, I had the fun of driving in it.

I live in south Dakota. I've seen enough snow to keep me fine for a lifetime. I hate snow except during Christmas.
