Anonymous(36-45)1 yFor the first time in my life a few years ago, I was able to hike a mountain with my dad in Montana. I'm not a religious person in the slightest, but after hours, finally making it to the top and looking out over the earth and seeing greens and yellows and blues and smelling that amazing air and just being able to do this with my dad, it's like I understood just a tiny bit of the universe and what it was all meant to be. It was very emotional, still makes me cry when I think about it, that nature could be this and that we were apart of this, and that someday, when my dad was gone, he would become a part of this universe and help other things grow. I live in a major city all year round and it's concrete walls. Nature is where I feel the freest, and go to connect with the universe in some way. That's absolutely what I love about it and since a lot of times I spend with nature, I'm with my dad, it holds the fondest memories for me.

I love how it’s quiet, peaceful, and I love hearing the birds chirp and the sounds of waves.

1 yNature is where you forget about everything else. It's where the soul sings. Humans are meant to be more in tune with nature. That's why things like camping are so fun. Smelling the trees and plants around you, the breeze on your skin, listen to the rustling of leaves and the birds chirping. If you're by a body of water, then it can be one of the most calming feelings. Ever sit in a hammock and just watch the lake or ocean glisten in the sunlight? Doesn't get more zen than that.
Sitting by a campfire and looking and being mesmerized by it's unpredictable patterns and motions as it crackles from dry timber. You don't really think of anything. No rent, no taxes, no insurance, no leases, no mortgage, no bills. That's where we're meant to be.
I just want to have a place in the middle of a forest and hopefully somewhat close to a beautiful lake, and live my days out there.10 Reply

1 yThe randomness. The constant change. The fact that a beautiful sunset has a finite existence and will never be seen by anyone again.
What I take away from that is an imperative to live in the moment and let go of the past without forgetting it.

AskAs a relationship coach, my aim is to help with all kinds of connections, whether with people or nature. 🌺 While I might not understand animals too well and stay cautious around them, nature's beauty is captivating. It’s like a peaceful partner, offering calm and connection without saying a word. Nature's colors, sounds, and moments of tranquility help us recharge. It's like falling in love with the world over and over! 🌍💚

GAG put this under relationship because it’s reading your mind 😏
I grew up surrounded by nature.
The smell, the danger, the beauty. It’s a package deal that creates a certain “headspace”
I love cities but when you live in one long enough you grow tired of the endless concrete walls21 Reply- 1 y
Lol!! Clearly GAG is very skilled on that score!!
1 yI’m mostly with Vincent Van Gogh on this one “if you really love nature you will find beauty everywhere “
Or perhaps from Anne Frank ,
“ I Firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles
Nature is not only empowering through the secrets she holds bound only by our imaginings but contrastingly a constant reminder of how insignificantly small each of us are. Make no mistake the world does not belong to us , but rather , we belong to the world10 ReplyI like nature best in the summertime on a nice day, riding my cycle in the countryside and forests.
I like seeing the wild flowers, the bees pollinating them, the butterflies, and the aroma the flowers add to the fresh air.
I like watching the birds finding food for their young and going back to their nests to feed them.
I like seeing occasional rabbits, foxes and other wild animals.
I do enjoy and appreciate nature.

1 yMostly it’s the wildlife for me, but the peace and quiet is a close second.
I’ve been fascinated by all creatures great and small my entire life. As i got older, the serenity of remote wilderness has grown in importance for me.10 Reply
1 yThe calm. Nature doesn’t rush—everything just exists in its own rhythm. The quiet, the fresh air, the way trees move in the wind or how water sounds when it flows… it kind of reminds you to slow down and just be.

You'll never find something so beautiful and relaxing as mother nature but at the same time you'll never find something more cruel and brutal then her either.
