What's your favorite aspect of nature and why? (this has a point!)?
I'll share what your answer means once I get a few replies! :)
I like how vile, violent and rational it is. So opppsite lf the fake reality modern people create for themselves
Can you pick something small and specific that you love the most about nature, or do you just want to pick all of nature in general?
I actually couldn't agree with you more
Considering that I grew up as sous chef Tuna, We are done
Like when a lion who wins a fight against a lead pride. Then kills its cubs just to have his own offsprings to be born immediately.
Or a pack of wolves hunting methodically, manipulating and baiting a herd of bison into a stampede to get them to run so that the slow and weak to be exposed in behind
Most people are out of touch with the harsh reality of our existence and are out of touch with what life really is.
That sort of things are sheer reminders
Ok! Thanks for your answer :)
@Darklydarkened would you say that you would appreciate a harsh reminder that God is real out of the fake reality you've created for yourself? (sorry I'm no psychologist :P)
There's no God, any person who thinks he's real is just unenlightened in my opinion.
:) I was correct!
How so and about what?
I'm messing with you :)
My favorite thing is the fog on an autumn evening. Gives me a very somber feel to it.
Fog is one of my favorite things in nature too. What else does dog make you feel or think of?
Hmm... Hard to put to word how I feel precisely?
I love walking though the fog. Thereโs a feeling of uncertainty and isolation to it.
Sounds dumb, but itโs good to reflection in life when you donโt know where youโre going at times. The best thing you can do is keep moving forward and be comfortable with the fact that you arenโt going to know everything.
Same!! You described it really well... walking through fog is so surreal
Honestly! Itโs so calming. At least for me!
Yeah. Fog is so cool...
:) mhm! what is your favorite aspect of nature?
I'd say snow. It makes me feel cozy and protected while its falling outside.. I also love cloudy skies... they also make me feel comfortable. There's something mysterious about snow... I've always loved it.
I love snow as well! Why would you say it makes you feel protected? I love the cloudy skies! I also love that because itโs winter that the days are shorter and the season is nocturnal. It makes for lovely dates.
:) yeah... Actually I'm not sure... I've always been partial to cloudy days and snowy days rather than sunny ones... hard to describe why. I guess it just feels like the worlds being blanketed. Just feels safe and comfortable all over.. And when its snowing its just so beautiful... like little bits of heaven coming down to earth :)
very true, i understand now. snow looks very peaceful and cozy.

I like how most species love their own kind and care for their babies
Is there a particular animal or plant or vision in nature you feel the most for?
I was thinking of apes and pigs cause Iโve seen apes carry their babies in their bodies and my aunt who worked on a farm during communism said one pig went crazy with fear and panic when he saw his pig friend getting killed - in the same way people get upset when they watch family members die but the pig was mourning over a friend pig and not a family member
Aww. Would you say that you view God as someone very relatable and who cares about you?
I would describe my relationship with God to my relationship to raw fish dipped in wasabi and soy sauce - the fish is flavourful and fulfilling but the wasabi can be very very spicy and the soy sauce doesn't always mix well with the wasabi - meaning - God can be both very sweet and very tough - it depends whether your the cop's daughter or whether your the cop's criminal.
Purely visual beauty. I don't like being out and exposed to the elements (sun, rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.), I don't like getting dirty, I don't like bugs--but I can appreciate the visual beauty. In other words, I like looking at nature, but I don't like touching nature.
So to you, nature is nothing more than a picture.
@Darklydarkened I guess you could say that.
@angiebangie In response to your update, how about bodies of water? I find bodies of water aesthetically appealing, particularly flowing rivers that wind through forests, and cascade over beds of rock. Especially if the water is clear and you can see the aquatic animal life under the surface.
Is that specific enough?
Perfect! Thank you :D
@ShortCircuit Would you say that you also don't like being exposed to God, or have much to do with Him yet, but you appreciate Him at an arms length as a wonderful being?
That's actually not too far off. I was raised Christian, but now identify as agnostic just because I don't believe the probability of any one religion being true is high enough to justify organizing my entire life around any religion's unique demands. However, I do appreciate many teachings of Christianity and Judaism, and prefer the company of religious people over atheists, because I find them to be of higher moral character.
So interesting! For the sake of philosophical discussion if you don't mind, could you share more on becoming an agnostic? I found it interesting what you said about not believing in orgaizing your life around religion. What do you organize or base your life on?
I still believe the soul and an afterlife is more likely to exist than not, but I'm agnostic on the existence of a deity/deities. One of the initial conflicts I faced that led me to agnosticism was Christianity's fixation on petty behavioral rules that contradict the overrall moral messages of Christianity (individualism, personal responsibility, forgiveness, mercy, peace, etc.). I was particularly at odds with the Christian view on same-sex marriage, and became agnostic at around the same time same-sex marriage was legalized. (I'm heterosexual myself, but the issue is important to me because I'm a lover of liberty.) I realize there are many Christians who don't espouse the hard-line fundamentalist Christian views on homosexuality, but it always struck me as disingenuous, cherry-picking, and begged the question: "If you can take a revisionist perspective on this part of the Bible, what's stopping you from doing the same for the entire book?". At that point it became obvious to me that the only two consistent routes were fundamentalism or discarding the Bible entirely. I chose to believe that if there was a god, he/she wasn't as judgmental and knit-picky as the texts made him/her out to be, so he/she wouldn't blame me if I distanced myself from organized religion. So I did.
As for what I organize my life based on... well, I guess you could say I'm a hedonist. I'm prudent, and I sacrifice lower pleasures in favor of higher pleasures, and effectively live the same lifestyle I did as a Christian, besides religious rituals like praying and attending church, but that still makes me a hedonist. "Higher pleasures", being things like romantic love, financial success, self-improvement and self-actualization, art, memorable experiences, friendship, influence, spreading the philosophy of liberty, acquiring knowledge, meaningful work, changing lives in one way or another, etc.
Water.
Water flows around one when one is immersed in it. Water refreshes when one drinks it. Water cleans the body when one washes. Water helps plants grow. Water carves the canyons with its relentless patience. Water is the reason there is life on the earth. There is nothing as gentle, as fleeting, as enduring, as sustaining, as life giving, and as patient as water.
Rain to me is like being wrapped in a blanket.
Plants, they provide oxygen, food, poisons, medicine, some get you high and we recently found out how to extract metal from some of them which is badass we can farm metal
True!
Would you also say that you find God unrelatable and far away and yet appreciate what He's given you?
Being naked nude in nature is my favorite. 💞 Two being outside while naked nude with the wind and sun on your naked nude body. The feeling is heavenly fantastic. 💞 Love it. 💞
Would you say that you feel completely comfortable and in tune with God?
Water. In any form. The sea, rivers, streams, rain... Thereโs something freeing and soothing about itโs motion, smell and sound.
mmmm I agree. Thanks for your reply!
Would you say that you can recognize God in different forms/situations, and are freed and soothed by Him?
Iโm not religious
Is there something in your life that you go to that makes you feel free and soothed?
The rocky green cliffs in the west of Ireland. They make me feel connected to my ancient tribal ancestors. Sounds pretentious, I know, but it's really special.
Trees. They weather storms, provide shelter and life to creatures, like us for example
Mmm trees are cool
Would you say that you put your trust in God as an all powerful being, who can weather any storm and provide shelter for your soul?
Oh! xD What is it in your life that you find helps weather your storms and provides you a safe spot?
The ocean, specifically The Pacific Ocean. I love its power and majesty. I love how it can go from tranquil to terrifying. I love to watch the sun as it sets over it. I love to surf in it. I love that I live next to it.
Summer and the weather
Snow and rain
