Do you use your KNUCKLE to push BUTTONS?

One thing the pandemic taught me to do is to use my knuckle when pushing buttons. Using the tip of the finger makes it more likely to transfer whatever bad things are on the surface of the button to your face, where you might pick up an infection, whereas the knuckle makes that less likely.

What about you?

Do you push buttons with the tip of your finger, like we all used to? Or do you use your knuckle? Or maybe an object like a pen or pencil so you never physically touch the button?

Isn't this a military thing? Damaging the front of your fingers or palms means you can't use a weapon and so it's a court marshal offence, hence you push with knuckles or fist.

Personally I just use my fingers, they touch far worse than a button.

If my fingers are busy holding somethings, I have - on occasion- used my knuckles, elbow and even the item I was carrying such as a small bowl. I do try to have "landing spots" for items in the most heavily traversed areas in our home, though.

Yes, if I don't have a pen or pencil, I usually push the button with my knuckle.
