Who after this movie they started getting really bad?

But I have no idea but that's a common theme of a franchise getting worse and worse.
The first was good because of it's self contained story the rest became less so which was for sure a factor as it became more wacky and nonsensical.
And tbf the first one is over the top and somewhat nonsensical but it had that self contained to the narrative at hand. The 2nd film showed a similar promise but after the 3rd none of that was left.

After that they are just trying to make more money.
Some sequels are pretty good.
