I don’t think i’ve ever had zero dollars in my adult life. I either had a job or i had savings from previous jobs. The closest i can recall was probably thirty years ago, maybe more. I was living paycheck to paycheck. When i went to the bank to deposit my check on payday, i learned that i had like eight bucks and some change in my account. I made the deposit and adjusted my register, but when i got my next statement i saw that they had charged me an overdraft fee even though i could clearly see that i had made my deposit the same day as the withdrawal and had a positive balance at the time. The bank’s excuse was that they process debits before deposits. I told them that the deposit was in the account before the debit was charged and i wanted that money back. They made a “one time exception” and adjusted my balance. After which i promptly withdrew my entire balance and closed my account. That weekend i learned about all the benefits of credit unions over banks and opened an account at a local credit union. I still bank with them to this day.
Long story short: i had $8 to my name before i cashed that paycheck. That’s the cash poorest i can ever remember being.
I lived out of my car for a couple months while i saved up a deposit to get a new place, but i was working and had money in the bank. So despite being homeless, i wasn’t that poor. 😂😂
I do not miss financial struggles at all!
My favorite part is never having to worry about my car breaking down randomly. That’s a lowly feeling.

I couldn't even be sure. I started making and saving money when I was 11, so no later than that
