My good friends and I say we like "ornery guys", not bad boys. When we were younger, we fell prey to the bad boy. Now, out of college, we prefer ornery guys. Speaking for me personally, it is a turn off/deal breaker if a guy has been to jail or is frequently acting in serious ways that could put him there. Stealing, damaging property, dropping out of high school, doing drugs, frequently getting in fights, etc. Those are all turn offs and really a sign of how immature a guy is. That's why they call them bad BOYS. They're not men yet.
I would see an ornery guy as being confident, and like you said, "bends the rules" on occasion. Convincing me to stay out way too late, having sex somewhere public, jokes that are a little mischievous. Even in movies that idealize the "bad boy", there's still a lot more good to him than bad. There's usually some underlying, good reason for him doing whatever bad thing he's doing. In real life, we wouldn't want a man going to such extremes, but the point is still there. We like a guy who can be a little bad, but is in actuality, a good man. Ideally, we want a responsible man who can handle his business and treat us well (very well!), but can also bring out that side of us that makes us feel comfortable being a little bad and wild sometimes.

I think the idea of a bad boy is aluring but I wouldn't actually date one. I would say vandalism and stealing are a no. Especially if it involves getting in trouble with the law on purpose.
yeah I would date a guy that causes vandalism, but probably not if they break into houses or stores- depends on how much I like the guy
She just doesn't want to be bored. Women bore easily and that's why they want to date the "bad" boy because he's not "boring". My dad isn't all that exciting but he married my mom because she was pregnant with me. She didn't care that she's not all that exciting, she just wanted a guy who would be able to support her if she was to go through with having me
