Why does my ex want to hug me?

My ex and I have not had physical contact in means, meaning hugging, touching or even being around another. We've recently began talk and this past week he asked if he could hug me, way to be awkward about it...

I didn't hug him but I'm not sure what would've happened if I did.

What's wrong with a hug?

Nothing at all, but last time we hugged was when we were in a relationship, so it seems weird, I guess it caught me off guard

Lol I say give him a hug. Unless you think unwanted feelings will come back. Then in that case don't.

I think feelings may come back - last time he tried hugging me, he basically cornered me and tried to kiss me so yah lol but thanks for the opinion :)
