Are headbands OK to wear?

Question

I'm 20 years old and I would like to wear headbands, but I feel they're very kiddish.  Can someone give me advice on how to wear them or why I should not wear them?

here's what you do, say f*** everyone one who doesn't like it, it's your head band if you want to were it then it doesn't matter whether it's childish it makes you happy in a way to wear it right? the it doesn't matter how others judge you. I tell everyone this I'm me when I wake up & I'm me when I go to bed & I'm still gonna be me when the tomorrow. the same applies to you. so get over any insecurities you have & just do what makes you happy!

I think theyre fine regardless of age. I suppose more girls who are older wear more 'flashy' headbands as opposed to the plain ones of old, say with cloth or a flower on it to compliment their outfit, giving the impression of thought and maturity.

I wear them, and I'm 20 as well. You shouldn't let people dictate what you can and can't wear if you like it. And if you mean headbands specifically and not sweatbands, I personally think they're very attractive and come in a lot of styles that look good on adults.

Why not? I think it's not wearing a headband that matters or makes it childish but what type of headband is it...Like style, you know...I wear rarely, mine are mostly plain with small figure like flower or something but not big. It helps keeping some hair away too :)

i wear headbands sometimes to play up my hair and I'm turning 28 lol. I choose headbands with simpler style and darker colors so that it will not look so childish. on how to wear it, according to lauren conrad  make sure that the headband sits forward on your head and it should be only an inch and a half from your hairline. in fairness when I'm with my boyfriend and I'm wearing it he is not ashamed to be with me so I guess it look OK lol ^-^

Of course they're okay to wear. My 46 year old mother still wears them. I think they're appropriate for almost any age. Besides, 20 is still very young. You're not even a fully a woman yet. Enjoy your youth while you still have it. If you find you look kiddish when you're wearing them that means it works for your age. If you're an old lady wearing something that is too young for you it won't look kiddish, it will look like an old lady trying to look young/cool.

Of course they are OK to wear. There is absolutely nothing unusual about wearing a headband! I love headbands too but I want my hair to grow longer before wearing them x_x!

They do make you lookyounger, but not necesssarily infantile!  And you can get away with it at 20, especially if you're physically small.  Most people will think it's cute..

Sure why not? it's just a headband. I used to wear them all the type when I was younger. one of my teachers who is twice my age wears them! I say go for it. They make you look either cute or sporty.

Don't wear them unless you have very long hair that you need to keep out of your face.  Also beware the hippy look.
