Are you using the term "boyfriends or girlfriends" in a literal sense (a meaningful relationship) or as a euphemism for "somebody you've had sex with".

On several occasions when I knew the guy I caught girls referring to a confirmed sexual relationship as "he does not count" for any number of whimsical reasons.

The real number for most date-able women on the prude side is 1.2-1.5 per year times the number of years since they've lost virginity. The real number for average women in a large metropolitan area would be closer to 1.8...2.5 times the number of years since they've lost virginity.

For guys it is different because in most age groups up to middle age, the top 10-15% guys by appearance and social standing are having sex with all those women, while the remaining guys get nada.

I turn 19 next month and I've had a few grade school crushes and "one-week/month" relationships. But I consider my current boyfriend to be my first "real" relationship. We started dating at the end of my freshman year of high school and we're going into our second year of college now. So I voted B in the poll.

I'm 18 and I have had 3 relationships in total. Only one of those was a serious relationship and it's with my current and absolutely wonderful boyfriend. The other two were just a couple dates but definitely learning experiences :)

Two. One is serious the other one wasn't.

I am 21. I used to avoid relationships like the plague when I was a teen. I didn't do the one night stand thing either. I am very unconventional in regards to that.

i’ve had 9 boyfriends, only one I dated for a year and a half and the last one i’ve been on and off with for the past 2 years. Granted most of my boyfriends only lasted a month maybe 2 or 3 tops.

30. 3 long term boyfriends, one 1/2 years, 5 1/2 years, and 8 years (give or take, with the complicated start and end, and break up in the middle). 3 boyfriends that lasted a couple months each.
