My boyfriend gets so mad at me over the smallest things!

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 2 months as of tomorrow. Lately he has been getting upset with me for the smallest things...

Today he got so upset because he said he's sick of me texting him one word answers or smile faces that he can't respond back to. (Now it's not like I do this all the time, it's just here and there when I'm busy or at work, or out with my best friend that I shoot a short text or smiley face.)

but If it's not the texting thing he's getting upset about it's that he thinks I don't care about him. 9 out of 10 times I feel blind sided when he brings these things up. They come out of no where, so I call him to try and figure out what's going on and he picks a fight with me. I just don't understand...

why is it that everything I do pisses him off lately. It hurts me, because I feel like I can't do or say anything without him getting upset with me

This is really common. When it is the other way around, a woman being like this to a man, most people call it "drama". In these situations there is an underlying issue. I think you already got to the bottom of it with the line "but If it's not the texting thing he's getting upset about it's that he thinks I don't care about him."

For whatever reason this guy is having a hard time believing you love him, and it likely has little to do with you and the way you communicate with him. He, like many guys, has a personal problem deep inside that isn't being dealt with. It reveals itself in a few ways, like jealousy, neediness, and a vibe like they have this emptiness inside that cannot be filled satisfactorily. To be honest, I don't believe there is much you can do other than be consistent in how you present yourself. At the end of the day his personal issues are his to figure out and deal with on his own. While you want to help, there is very little you can do.

Weird. Only 2 months? That's going to be a problem. Give him a little time, maybe he's dealing with issues somewhere else in his life that are making his temper short...but if it doesn't go away I think it's better to leave him alone.

I had a best friend like that once. She undermined my confidence in how she was constantly trying to convince me I had all these flaws, was extremely annoying, everything was always my fault, blah blah blah. We started fighting more and more often (it started like how you are describing your relationship) and it ended badly. FINALLY, after months of fighting and me feeling worse and worse about myself, I gave up on the friendship. My biggest regret is not doing it sooner.

These guy is busted; he's insecure and needs to put you down to feel good about himself. It's only going to get worse, no matter how hard you try. It's not something you can fix

well , for myself , I hate it when someone replies me in one-two words , or just by a smile , I feel unwelcomed , maybe it is the case with him

Just like what lostbutincontrol said, he is insecure and this is not good. Also, the relationship is still pretty fresh at 2 months, and if he's already showing his bitter side and the excitement is gone, this is not a good sign of things to come.
