Will ignoring a guy hurt his ego? I think I was used for an ego boost?

This guy I thought liked me cuz he knew I had interest but then I suspected he didn't feel the same so I quit talking to him. Then he got my attention again and started flirting and hugging and giving me free coffee (he works at Starbucks ) then I asked for a favor an gave him my cell but he never called. Now I think he just used me for attention especially since he could have left me alone the first time but didn't. I know he is going to want my attention again but will ignoring him and staying out of sight really hurt his ego? I only interacted with him once or twice after he asked how come I didn't talk to him anymore. I don't think it's right to play with people feelings so I don't want him to think he is all that. Will this work?

Why are you playing games with him? He asked you how why you don't talk to him anymore so clearly he is/was interested in you. It sounds like you're playing with his feeling.

Yea but i feel if he was sincerely interested he would have called or text by now. I gave him my cell # AND a reason to call me (asked if he knew a mechanic) but nothing. A simple "hey it's me I haven't got that guys number but I'm still looking out for you.." Would have been a good initiation. But nothing. That's why I think he just wants my attention while he's at work but outside of work he's like eh.

Yea but I don't think his interest is sincere because he never texted or called. So i think he was just wanting my attention to stroke his ego when he could have just left me alone the first time instead of getting my attention again by asking why I quit talking to him. He shouldn't have played around like he was interested. I just want to show him he isn't all that I guess lol i know he is going to ask how come I don't talk to him anymore.
