The First time I knew I was Falling in Love

We had been out quite a few times and I already knew I liked him. This is pretty abnormal considering the last time I had a boyfriend was about, 4 years prior. I had not even kissed a guy in 3 years, until I met him. I tend to be pretty picky with guys and rarely connect with someone on a deeper level.

I got a call around 3 and he said he could go out earlier. He picked me up around 4 and I had a small picnic prepared for us. It included dried green beans, apples, tuna packets, wine, dark chocolate pretzels, and a few other things I remembered he loved. We both liked to eat healthy which is one of the things I really appreciated about him.

It was a beautiful ride. I held his hand all 45 minutes with the window down and felt like I didn’t want to be anywhere else. We didn’t even need to talk. Everything just felt right.

We got to the park around 4:45 and set up the picnic basket and blankets. We just sat there. Ate. Talked. Laughed. Completely enjoying the others company. We stayed as people came and went.

As time went on we relaxed and enjoyed the sunset. Lying on a hill, we had a perfect view over all of the buildings, hand in hand, still talking.

The next thing I knew it got darker and we got closer. I was snuggled into his chest, listening to his heartbeat, feeling his body. He told me all about his family, his secrets, our common interests. I just felt so confident and comfortable around him.

Then my biggest secret came out. We started making out, my shirt came off, and he started unbuttoning my pants. I knew I had to tell him eventually, so I admitted to him I was a virgin.

I was very hesitant to tell him this. I was a 21-year-old virgin and he was 26 who had been previously engaged. I had no idea how he would react. After a little bit more persuasion he finally believed me, but his response was exactly what I wanted to hear. He told me he respects that and he is willing to wait. That’s all you can really ask when you are in my position.

Around 10 we noticed security patrolling and the park was closing down, we then picked up our stuff and headed out. This was the last thing I wanted to do. I honestly could have stayed looking at the stars with him all night. This is the moment I knew I had never felt like this about anymore else. The moment I knew I was falling in love.
