How to Identify a Psychopath and Narcissist – From a Machiavellian

Not too long ago, a GAG user posted on why “women should be bitches.” Naturally, I chuckled. While it is important to be assertive and to fight, one should only do so when the situation calls for it.

Men who are dicks, women who jab people to get them to react, here is some wisdom – do not offend the wrong person in life. Some may say, what are they going to do? Understand, it takes only that one person to throw your life upside down.

“You always see it on the news, but you never believe it can happen to you until it already does.”

- Common saying

Psychopaths and Narcissists are masters of direct warfare – only another Psychopath, Narcissist, and/or extremely experienced warrior can match them.

Moreover, ladies, Psychopaths and Narcissists are more common in men, therefore, absorb! Otherwise:

“It was constant suffering, emotional, and verbal abuse. Although I am a psychologist, he had managed to catch me in his cage.”

“He swept me off my feet like he was the knight in shining armor. I had never felt so alive, beautiful, and desired.”

Warning Signs:

I. Flattery; Hook Point I

You’re special, you’ve known this since you’ve been able to play with yourself in bed, why shouldn’t the world know too? As natural con artists, Psychopaths and Narcissists know this intuitively.

Narcissists tend to be more verbal. The flattery is constant – even annoyingly so.

Psychopaths are typically far craftier, they do this through both direct and indirect methods: buying you gifts, pleasuring you, and many others.

In short, you will feel like a King or Queen – for a while.

II. Charm and Charisma; Hook Point II

No, being charming or charismatic does not imply a lack of empathy, but Narcissists are typically very charming. Psychopaths tend to be both very charismatic and charming.

Charm and charisma, I found, is often a common trait of questionable people – it should raise your guard, but should only have merit if one of the other rules in this list is involved in combination.

III. Extreme Selfishness; Return on their Investment I

As they say in business and politics, “you scratch my back, I scratch yours.” You will pay your debt, usually 10 times the amount. The early signs, are there, but unlike the first 2 points, these are quite subtle.

For example: if one smokes in your car, you say to stop. Then, on your second trip, they smoke anyway.

Narcissists are typically attention/ego driven, what we call Narcissistic Supply (NS). Psychopaths are thrill and power driven.

IV. Devalue and Discard; Return on their Investment II

Once they get bored, make no mistake, they blame you for feeling this way. Then they devalue by blaming you, destroying your life, only to make you more dependent on them for self-esteem – you want things to go back to normal, therefore, you submit to the Narcissist's and Psychopath's demands – now you pay them back.

A common tactic in dating is what we call the Push and Pull. The context is the same, but is far more intense when it comes to Narcissists and Psychopaths; this is the most infamous stage in the relationship. Also, the most traumatic.

V. Extreme Personalities

In general, stay away from extreme personalities.
