Whether it's dating, having sex, marriage, or whatever, I've begun to realize that what makes a relationship work is that both people are really happy to be with one another. Now, I understand this should be obvious and EVERYONE should already know this like it's common sense. But not everyone does or maybe only a few people really understand this.
I have never dated a girl before, but recently, I've been trying to befriend women and really see if I can end up dating them or not. Well, so far, not good BUT I've come to realize that I will not be happy because I will never make her happy as a boyfriend. It would very selfish if I continued to pursue her which would make her very uncomfortable.
And so here I'll try to connect this with the "friendzone." Before you ask a girl out, say to yourself "Am I doing this out of selfishness? Just so that I can have a pretty girl all to myself?" What you should be thinking is "I really love her, her personality, everything, and I know I can make her more happy because I know her very well and have tricks up my sleeve." It's just a fundamental conflict between love and greed.
Thank you!
