Girls, do you forget those nice guys you rejected who genuinly cared for you and loved you truly or you always remember them?

So girls suppose you have been friends with this boy for more then a year, talking romantically all day night 24/7.
He entertains you, makes you happy, truly cares for you.
suddenly your ex (who physically abused you and treated you like crap this guy supported you that time) came back begging you to take him back and at the same time your that guy friend expressed his feelings of love for you. Your guy friend tried a lot to convince you that he is a player and not a good guy as he might do some crap again but still you choose your ex over this nice guy and tell that guy that you just see him as a friend and have no feelings for him.
But you can't even stop talking to your guy friend, but he decided to move on by cutting every contact with you coz he dont wanna get hurt. Now you can't even handle this thing coz you want that guy so bad but only as a friend.
But he is helpless and had to do that.
Girls will you always remember this guy and have any regret later or you will just forget about it?
She is 17.
And i am that nice guy in this case so what should i do?

I have been that girl in a similar situation where I had to choose between an ex and a guy friend. I turned him down, but he and I are still good friends to this day, because he accepted the situation for what it was and he has genuinely moved on from those feelings. If he couldn't get over it, I don't think that we would have been comfortable still being friends.

Did I feel bad about turning him down? Yes, and to be honest, our friendship is never really the same as before. But, I am always grateful that he took it in stride, got over it, and upheld his friendship with me. If you still want to genuinely be friends with her, you'd have to let go of how you feel (for now, at least). If you don't, it will come across and seem like you have ulterior motive for sticking around, and it doesn't feel like true friendship.

Do I think about/regret it? Yea sometimes, I remember it and I might think about what it would have been like, but at the end of the day, I know that if I had wanted more with him, I would have done something about it.

I can't speak for how she feels about you, but I think that the best thing you can do is to deal with the situation as is, which is that she's interested in someone else right now. You can be her friend if that is what you want, but be real about it. If she does think she could be more with you at a later time, she would do something about it. Until then, she's made her choice right now, and I don't think you should do anything further to push your feelings on her.

I don't know, as a girl, I never understood choosing the bad guy. But I understand rejecting a guy friend, and wanting that guy so badly as a friend. It does really hurt me to break their hearts. But I understand when they keep their distance for a while.

The only thing you can do is be there for her I know it will be painful but just be there and fingers cross sooner or later she will realise her mistake and leave the ex and see what a good guy you are

Girls just don't care about these 'nice guys', in most cases. They're just a way for them to let out their emotions and gain some support. That's the reason being 'too nice' will always end you in the dreaded friendzone.

Be nice, but not too much. If you STILL get friendzoned, just cut all contact with the girl and move on. She isn't worthy of your time or emotional energy anyway.
