Should I cut her out of my life?

For quite a number of years I have been friends with this girl. She's really nice and very good looking and we get along well. Over the past 6 months I've become increasingly attracted to her, so much so I cannot stop thinking about her. A few days ago I summoned up the courage and asked her to be my boyfriend, she rejected me and gave me the whole "You're such a nice, guy; I'm hoping we can be just friends" treatment.

I am heartbroken, soul crushed and very angry.

She says she still wants to be friends with me and said she never meant to hurt me but I don't know if I could handle being around her anymore. This may sound rather cruel but I'm thinking that if she does not want to be with me, I don't want to be her friend.

By cutting her out of my life I mean completely: don't talk to her, avoid her in social situations, block her number and Facebook and forget about her. Treat her like she doesn't exist.

Close friends say that me cutting her out would really upset her but her rejecting me has hurt me. I don't know what to do.

What should I do? Should I still be friends with her? Or should I cut her out of my life completely?

explain to her it is too painful to be friends and walk away, you would not be a genuine friend right now because you will think that you are helping her out during the hard times but deep down inside it will be you trying to prove to her you can be a great boyfriend, comeback when you have gotten over her and find someone else

Well you have to be mature about this. Do you really want to cut her completely out of your life? Don't punish her just bc the feelings weren't mutual BUT if you feel that continuing a friendship would hurt you in the long run, you gotta look out for yourself!

That has happened to me before, the guy remained my friend and he is happily married now. I still have good opinion of him, because it means he was truly my friend, he didn't just stop being my friend because I didn't want to date him. You could take the high road, but if you think you can't handle it don't stick around.

You are entitled to do what you feel comfortable with. You don't have to remain friends with her if you know you would want more and feel hurt by her not reciprocating your feelings. You don't have to subject yourself to that. End the friendship and if she is a decent person then she will understand why.

What matter more? Your feeling or her feeling?

Stay friend with her if it the latter, end the friendship if it the former. Ez pz lemon squeezy.
