My crush lives on the other side of the world.. what should I do?

Would you give up on someone you have been talking to for 4 years just because that person lives across the world?

We share the same feelings and I really want to see where it might lead us. Moving is not really an option for the moment (because of personal reasons) and visiting is quite expensive (ofc).

What should I do? Give it more time, just give up or something else?

(Might be of importance to add that I am 22 and he is 23. My age thingie fucked up when i created this account)

if you love him, it shouldn't matter how far they are and how much it costs to see him. if you both really feel this strongly towards each other, why not work something out? if you can't, you should consider someone else because you're not getting any younger.

4 years is a really long time to be with someone. most people decided to move in together at 1 year.

you are definitely concern about the relationship not moving forward because if you weren't, you wouldn't bring it up. 4 years is a long time to waste on a relationship that isn't going anywhere. why not find someone closer to you, where it would it be easier to have a relationship with?

No, like i said we have been friends for 4 years nothing more. The confession took part like 2 weeks ago where we shared the same kind of feelings. However I personally started to get feelings for him for the past 8 months but didn't say anything, or take it seriously until he confessed. We haven't given it a try yet and that was what my question was about, if we should give it a go or not. I have been seeing guys that are closer to me ofc but there is something special about this dude which makes the decision harder to make.

if you both can't agree on sticking it out for the long run then drop it and remain as friends, date locally.

somewhere down the line if both your living situations become more convenient then reconsider making things work.

I was in such a relationship once for 6 years. Suddenly I realised it was 80% me 20% her, so I quit and noticed I missed many opportunities which would never come back.

I am proud tho of the fact that I was able to let them go just because I was compromised with what I thought was wonderful and unique. So.. I guess in the end of the day just pick your choice, let it completely suck you in, and enjoy the process, doesn't matter what really comes out of it.
If it doesn't make you happier than sadder, tho, quit.

Give it more time. Travel to see him at some point, if things don't work out then you'll just have to accept reality and move on and hope for the best.
