If I wasn't working/was part time and he worked full time (and didn't have huge bills or debts) I would expect him to play the majority (eg 70-30). Perhaps even if I was full time too. The man should always pay slightly more... as the woman makes more of an effort to be there. Plus its just gentlemanly (que the people freaking out that a woman has the audacity to say such a thing lol). But I wouldn't expect him to pay everything all the time. Espesh if I was earning plenty. Normally I'd say, cover the snacks if u catch a movie and pay for the drinks with a meal and leave the tips etc.
my last boyfriend and i had an understanding that, since we were both students, we would always split. occasionally, he would decide to pay for the whole thing, usually for special occasions, and i was always appreciative of it. i understood why we split and it didn't *bother* me, but deep down, i did wish i was with someone who always paid for me. basically, i think if you're both students, struggling financially, etc. then it makes sense to always split. but if i'm dating someone with a job (i'm still in school) he better be insisting on paying every time!

BUT if he asks me to an expensive restaurant and he’s well aware of my financial situation then we need to discuss ahead of time that he’s footing that bill. Otherwise we’ll go somewhere less expensive. But like any woman I enjoy being treated nice on occasion.
I'd only get annoyed by it if they ordered some stupid expensive thing (like over $50) and I got just a regular proceed thing and they wanted to split the check down the middle. Like, fuck nah we're getting separate checks you pay for what you got yourself.

I usually walk into things expecting to pay my part. If you’re not married to the guy (this is going to sound bad), why should he pay for you? What’s in it for him if he doesn’t know if he’s going to start a family with you? Also, it’s just fair to pay for your own meal/ticket, even though it would be nice for a guy to offer to pay once in a while.
I'm all for equality in relationships so I would expect to pay half most of the time. But it's also nice to treat each other once in a while, because it's a romantic gesture, so I might be bummed if he NEVER wanted to.
We take turns paying for dinner, so going halfsies is pretty much the same. If it's a new person, my preset is that we're splitting the bill anyway, because that's the norm here, so I wouldn't be upset.
