How do you count monthly anniversaries?

From date to date or four weeks from the date because that's about a month? I've heard a lot of different ones.

For example: lets pick a random date->January 29th

Would you either count:

1)February 29th

or

2)February 26th

Do explain your reasoning in the answer below

Its basically like year anniversaries. Let's say that you started on July 2nd 2014 so your 1 year ann. would be July 2nd 2015. So it's the same for months. July 2nd, August 2nd, September 2nd, etc... :) Hope I helped!

So what if you started on May 31 2015
It couldn't be the 31st of each month obviously

I only count them for the first year. Then it becomes, we have our x year anniversary next April.

If it really matters, just assume it's the first of every month.
