Unknown number says my boyfriend is cheating on me is he?

Got a text from some girl saying my man is cheating on me and has been for a year but then she changed the story and said it’s only been 4 months. She said he hates me and my child and is trying to end it with me. We just had a babygirl 4 months ago and have been drama free since we moved. Then I get that text she says he has a third phone in his truck or his office but I’ve been in both plus he’s always around me and when he does go out alone it’s to the grocery store so he’s usually gone for an hour. She says she has pics of them together but when I ask for proof she doesn’t send any... is this a scam? She also said they met at a hotel and that’s how she got my number but he hates hotels he never goes out at night he’s always home helping me unless to go out for doctor appointments or food. We have tried to call the number and no one picks up... so is this fake? We have had people do this to us before in the past cause they were not happy we were together. Need advice please

First, separate what info was initially alleged, what info you gave (if any), and use a search-engine on the number.

For the initial report, was the alleged whistleblower able to correctly provide your boyfriend's name (& other specifics, without you giving it)? It may have been a wrong number.

How long have these texts been exchanged? (Have you responded back at all?) Is there a pattern in when they're sent?

Take what was reported with a grain of salt (or more).

How much of what she said jives with your joint-reality? How much is doubtful? And how much is blatantly inaccurate?

As for a changing story, known info can change as new info is received. Or, perhaps (if she speaks truth…and it's not a wrong-number scenario), she had to modify the story based on what proof she's been able to secure, but yet can't release at the moment. Otherwise, if could be a malicious attempt of a prank/manipulation or a well-intended report… but to the wrong person, under the influence of baseless rumors she ended-up believing, or misunderstanding due to jumping to conclusions after seeing some poorly-timed coincidences.

Get real and talk to him about it.
Frankly, if he wants to be with you and doesn't hate the kid, then he should be willing to get married - ASAP. That's what a responsible man and father would do. A man who doesn't do that is an immature and irresponsible boy in a man's body.

Download an app called reverse lookup. You type in the # and the persons who name is registered to the phone will appear along with location and other things. If a name does not show, it’s likely to be a texting app.

Either way, it sounds fake.

The strange thing is I had a friend that wanted to stay here a couple days because her husband was controlling then she asked him and he said no and that’s when I get the unknown number messaging me

It takes 2 or more data points to form a pattern. If you had other times you suspected him of cheating this may be something. Otherwise ignore it.
