Nah that don't bother me, I have a similar hangup. At first my girlfriend didn't let me spend any money on her. So I figured out she likes homemade stuff better so we'll usually just make each other gifts instead of buying them. Tbh tho I often cop out and bake something instead of being crafty that's more her thing. She loves bread and she can make cool stuff so it works out.

Nope. The fact that she doesn't want to depend on me economically makes me put my heart in peace about her true interests in life. If anything, I'd respect her more.
Of course, if I'm out of my way to make a gift to her, I wouldn't want her to ask the receipt to get money back. One thing is independence, another is not understanding an act of appreciation.

Of course if you love her you want to do nice things for her. But maybe in that case she just has a different type of fashion sense and prefers to pick it herself. That and some people prefer to be independent at times which is actually more of a turn on if anything.
