How long has your honeymoon phase lasted the longest in any of your romantic relationships?

The honeymoon phase is an early part of a couple's relationship where everything seems carefree and happy.
How long does it usually take from you to start the drama part of the relationship? 😄
I mean...
How long can you go without fighting/yelling/namecalling in a relationship?
I'm asking this question because nowadays many people have numerous breakups and very few people are lucky to experience honeymoon phases.
I believe (I don't want to though) that having a dating history only makes the person worse than what they could be if they didn't date. The experience of yelling/emotional manipulation is a warning sign to me. As far as I know many ex relationships contain that shit.
I know it's nearly impossible for me to find a man who has never dated anyone but I still can't overlook his dating history. I need to find out what consequences it has had on him before I decide to date him.

You just have to find the right person - and the two of you both have to be very attracted and authentic and good to each other. It takes two people to make it work.

I met someone 5 years ago. We are still in “the honeymoon phase” 5 years later - it never really ended - where we are deeply in love and so happy to be together and we just enjoy life together. Other people we know joke and say we are “nauseating” because we are so obviously in love and so happy. So it’s possible to not only have a honeymoon phase, but it’s also possible to keep it going. Now we are also compatible in a lot of ways on terms of what we want from life and the kind of relationship we want. That helps for sure.

I have a dating history, even been married before. The same for her. We met, we hit it off instantly, but we took the time to get to know each other and we were patient with each other. We are very authentic and honest with each other. We communicate well. We don’t yell and scream. We talk to each other, always come from a place of love, and instead of assuming the worst intentions all the time, we assume the best intentions. We don’t always agree but we work things out. We have both said “ the only thing that can ruin this great thing we have, is us. So let’s just decide that we are not going to let anything ruin us”. And we have lived by that.

We have mad chemistry, sex is awesome, and we are both romantics - and love to keep the romance alive. We are good to each other. We are both giving in the relationship. We help each other. We are best friends.

Most of all we are both willing to be vulnerable by trusting and revealing our true selves. That is not easy, some can never do it. But it’s a key to an awesome relationship. It requires you to lower your guard and take a chance.

You can find a person for a relationship like that, but you both have to play nice, be authentic, and be kind and good to each other. And be willing to trust and be vulnerable. You both have to be open to it and want it. You can’t force this with just any person. You can’t force it to work. The two of you have to really care for each other and really want it - it take both of you.

It also helps to be in a place in your life…where you know what you want…and know how to appreciate something / someone truly good. In fact I would say life experience and past relationships experience is actually a help - as it helps people learn from mistakes and to appreciate a good person, and to be more mature and understanding. To know what they want (and don’t want).

A lot of people have hard times in their life (I certainly had mine) and they let those hard times damage them and make them scared or cynical or suspicious or all of the above. It can make it hard to trust again, to give of yourself to love again.

And others have the same kind of hard times, but instead of allowing those hard times to cripple them, the simply choose to learn and grow and not allow past hard times to define them, to define their future. I refused to let past challenges define my future.

My advice to you is don’t look backward for your answer on what is possible for you. Don’t become jaded and disappointed by the past and let it cloud your future. Instead keep your optimism and give each new relationship a fresh chance. Some people get to a point where they expect everything to go rotten - and so they do things, sometimes even unconsciously, that turns it into a self-fulfilling prophesy. Don’t be one of those people. Keep your mind and your heart open, don’t feel foolish for doing that. Feel brave for it. That is how you will find that person who is just as brave as you, and you can truly have the kind of relationship you want. It might take a while. But don’t give up.

With my wife, we both had our share of past relationships when we first met so our honeymoon phase lasted quite a while (I'd say several years at least both in terms of being passionate and feeling carefree).

Our passions for each other were always positive and didn't work towards fear and heated arguments. I think we were both old and experienced enough to know that arguing with someone we love is a lose-lose proposition.

We're still pretty carefree and cheerful types even after being married for over a decade (we got married in 2010). It's just that we don't have sex three times in one night all that often (although it might have to do with both of us being old and not having that much energy anymore).

fighting/yelling/namecalling   these things sound horrible... i know fighting is normal in a relationship but as long as it doesn't involve namecalling... because that is abuse to me honestly.  My current relationship had a long Honeymoon phase of 3 years, after 3 years we had little issues and routine started to hit us, but then we moved in together and a new honeymoon phase started which lasted a nother year, and honestly that's how we learned that we need new circumstances in order to refresh our relationship... so we try to save money for weekend gettaways, and summer / winder hollidays... I think relationships fall into this boring pile of shit when routine hits it... and everything becomes just... boring and stupid

I'm on my third longterm relationship. Currently been going 13 years. Honeymoon phase has waxed and waned throughout. The attraction has never died in this one. Life happens and relationships evolve. They take work. How you ride through the non-honeymoon periods together is what matters. Real love, not a fairytale.

Been with my boyfriend for 1.5 years and still no drama, fighting, name calling, etc. It took over a year for us to even get mildly irritated with each other, but we both let it pass quickly. I think relationships stay relatively drama-free if you're with the right person.

We've never fought. A few times of miscommunication and a different view of contact with parents, but no disagreements or fights. We've been going out over 3 years. I don't think the honeymoon phase will ever end. Honestly COVID-19 might have helped. We can't see each other as often, so when we do we maximize our time together

Been with my girl for 5 years still no fighting and telling just learned to communicate problems and fix them I think part of the issue is people hear that couples must disagree from time to time and think that means couples must be toxic to eachother

Honestly it was with my ex wife, for a good couple of years then we moved in together lol. On the sex front thought that lasted well into the marriage and only really broke down a couple of years before the marriage ended and even then we still had good adventurous sex right up to the day we decided to sperate.

me and my s. o. been through hell and back after almost 4 years. between suicide attempts near death experiences drugs surgeries we been there for each other through the absolute worst in sickness and in health both physically and mentally and emotionally. me defending my s. o. when people started shit with them and them defending me when others tried shit as well. we always have each other's back
