Boyfriend didn't want me to correct the waiter for assuming we're married?

Went to a fancy restaurant with my boyfriend. The reservation was under my name. When the waiter came to greet us at our table, the waiter said, "Mr. and Mrs. (my last name)?". I started to correct him because it sounded weird to have my boyfriend called Mr. (my last name) but my boyfriend stopped me from correcting him. He just kinda held up his hand and said, "yeah". He has also been making a lot more wedding and marriage related comments. Do you think he might be considering proposing?

Obviously. But it's not only that. In a very fine restaurant it's not really nice with etiquette, it lacks tact, going into explanations and discussions. So he stopped it before you'd get into embarrassing situation without even knowing.
