My ex didn't to this to me, it's some woman on Reddit's story.

The boyfriend at the time kept gaslighting her to think she was smelly. Like constantly telling her she was stinky (even though she wasn't) and obviously she became self-conscious af and started using tons of products to make her smell better but the boyfriend would still tell her she stunk. He even made physical gestures of disgust toward her like holding his nose, moving away from her, etc. Her family and friends said she didn't smell but her boyfriend who I suppose she thought was her loving partner, kept telling her she did so it was fucking her up. Anyway, later on he revealed that she doesn't actually smell, he just says it because his dad told him that's how to keep a woman because she'll always be seeking your approval by trying to smell good for you. I think that's something his father did to his mother? Not sure, but the story did go along those lines. And yeah, the woman broke up with him on the spot.

He would never put in the effort to see me, and rejected my offers to come to see him.
He would not talk to me the entire day as a punishment for “bothering him”.
He would make promises of things like going places or getting me things, and never do it.
He would never tell me if he was busy or going places and couldn’t hang out or respond to text/calls.
