When I was younger, I used to believe that if your partner truly loved you, they knew your feelings or needs (they were able to read you like a book).
Obviously, I knew it was false, but the idea that your partner being able to read your body language and nonverbal cues was desirable.
I learned that being direct and upfront about your needs and feelings is SO important in a relationship, because not everyone can understand exactly what you’re feeling or needing.
