I ask because my partner and I went to my coworker's house for dinner last night, and she was the only one there that doesn't have a job anywhere near our field. Of course work came up and she had no idea what we were taking about. But the same thing happens when we go out with her work friends also. So, does it matter to you if your SO has a similar career as you? Or do you prefer them to have a different career altogether?
