Should I go on a date as a group or only two of us?

So 2 weeks ago my bestie invited us the girls to her sip and see party, so we decided to bring our gift to her newborn baby.

Last two days, my bestie texted me, she said her brother in law saw me at her party and interested in me. He even asked about me to my bestie, and asked her for my phone number twice. Then my bestie asked my permission to give my phone number to him, she sent me his photos too..
My bestie even wanted to have a dinner together to make him and i closer. My bestie, her husband and her babies, also her brother in law and me.. but i dunno if this gonna be awkward..
Should i go for group dinner w my bestie or maybe just only me and him? But i also dont know this guy so i dont wanna be awkward either

Either just the two of you or if possible without the babies. Babies are cute but they're also very attention seeking.

Going on a date with people you don't know, I've been warning my kids from that path. Getting to know people over time, who become friends, who don't have their front up, with whom you spend time in "no pressure" environments and if a closer friendship) relationship blossoms out of that they'll have a better chance of success.

This is kind of halfway there. Just take it slow.
